do any other teachers have any advice about handling urban students who are super confrontational and think that fighting is a necessary response to every sort of action they interpret as an insult?

probably the most heartbreaking thing about this school is that so many of our students don’t get familial support and have been pushed through classes by teachers who thought they were hopeless and punished them for everything that wasn’t just their suburban, white version of a perfect student.
