Artist commentary: “A character design I did a while ago. This is a former slave that escaped the mines where he was born and raised, hoping to come back as a liberator and free his brethren from the powerful local warlord caste. His arms are wrapped in magic seals. Acquiring the magic seals is a arduous process requiring the aid of a witch and lots of esoteric ingredients. They burn away as they are used for powerful dark spells. Once burned you have to restart the creation process, which some say involves human sacrifice. As the Miner ages you can see that he only has used up one of them.”
