Not sure if anyone figured this out, Meb Keflezighi was the first American who won the Boston Marathon since the year 1983 in 2014 (one year after the Boston Marathon bombing). Now, Desiree Linden is the first American female to win the Boston Marathon since 1985 today (2018). And Desiree's and Meb's hometown is The County of San Diego. Meb is from the City of San Diego and Desiree is from Chula Vista, California. Absolutely amazing!
