Sandhill Cranes

Snowbird birders wintering in the southwest have the opportunity to visit Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in central New Mexico, a famous winter home for huge flocks of Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese. The Elegant Trogon

Florida Birding

South Florida has been called a bird-watching mecca, and is possibly the best overall bird-watching location in the United States. Thousands upon thousands of birds flow through South Florida during their fall and spring migrations to the Caribbean islands and South America. Even more stop there for the winter. Pack up your RV or tent and head for Flamingo, at the SW corner of The Everglades. On a nice day the mudflats at the campground turns white with birds during low tide. This is my favorite area to visit, but there are many other excellent birding locations in South Florida which include colorful and distinctive natural population of wading birds as well as hawks, eagles and subtropical birds, combined with the winter migration of flocks from up north.
