To enable or change the ability to use a portable DAC or USB sound card with your Android device you will need to enable the Developer Mode of your device. This is generally the same for all android devices but if you are having difficulty finding it, remember Google is your friend :-)
Once you have enabled developer options on your device go into settings then developer options and scroll down until you find the media section and then the disable USB audio devices or similar and change the toggle until your device works as it should.
