It’s not just about the coffee...

Coming to Los Angeles from New York City, I have been craving MY coffee spot. In the city there’s so many, I couldn’t walk a block without finding exactly what I’m looking for. Unfortunately, for three years now I have been on a search for the perfect coffee shop in LA - and cute hearts in a latte just isn’t going to cut it anymore. I was looking for something not only with a yummy and diverse menu, but also the right atmosphere; somewhere that you can just sit for hours and read or do work, come in with friends for a chat, or grab a quick coffee on your way to work.

A few weeks ago, I finally found what I believe to be this go-to spot: Bricks and Scones.

First of all, the location is great. It’s not more than a twenty minute drive from my apartment, and is right in Larchmont Village where there's cute little shops and stores all around. This type of surrounding environment definitely plays a role, and is why I prefer it to the classic Urth Cafe.

The atmosphere both inside and right outfront is also ideal. There's seating outdoors with plants surrounding, indoor group seating on the floor level, and comfy chairs and tables on the upper level to get comfy for a long day of work. That ever-desired free wifi is also available.

I have been drinking three cups of coffee a day since freshman year of high school, so I love coffee. Now I also have a huge sweet tooth, so some good flavored coffee always put a smile on my face. Both the drink and food menu at Bricks and Scones is excellent. There are options for people who like a good kick of espresso, or a lighter sweeter coffee - fancy foam art included - as well as an extensive list of teas, including matcha. There are also healthy and hearty options for breakfast and lunch, and delicious pastries served all day long - the matcha white chocolate scone being my favorite.

All in all there's nothing that I have found, to this point after visiting a few times, that I did not like about Bricks and Scones. My rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
