No doubt, product design is important, but so is user experience too. That's because an average visitor spends the initial few seconds looking at your product's design, but in order to stick with it for the long term, the user experience plays the major role.

A visual media prototype I did as part of the master course Advanced Interaction Design in the design group JollyNudgers. The project was a short one to teach us about using CAVI’s blue screen studio and setting up a 3D scene in Unity (making the 3D models in Maya), and the project we made was a compass-esque artefact to place in a store, showing you the way to what you are looking for using color-coded light beams (watch the video).

Hotzenplotz

Hotzenplotz is a coffee mill, which reacts on the users manual activity. Whilst manual coffee mills are often uncomfortable to use and electronic coffee mills had problems in creating a positive experience, this way of automation "from above" shows how manual and automated processes can support each other complementary.
