Funny thing happens on road to professional career.
It seems the NASL clubs have no problem talking about loans and minutes for younger players to the USL PRO/PDL side. MNUFC Ibarra capping of USMNT has turned eyes to the NASL. Luke Mulholland, Former Rowdie, made his mark in the MLS last season. Amazing how all the MLS centric writing seems to focus on the 2 sides in the USL PRO. Farm teams for the big club. Understandable but. Not a fan of ManU but love the whole idea of FC Manchester United. Supporter owned and backed.
There will always be more Mulhollands than Beckhams or Messis. Pure passion for the game means more to me than shiny stadiums built for herd mentality. Don't get me wrong, a strong domestic league will and should be the backbone for national success. American soccer is no longer a one trick pony. The MLS is Champions League upper third level of play. The shine is wearing off the EPL. The Klinsmann/Garber spat is more about board soccer philosophy than how the national team played or who.
Our model should be the Bundesliga one. 41% of supporters are women. Special pricing for supporter groups. We'll never have the 50+1 formula. But standing smart barrier terraces are likely. The dream of playing competitive soccer at the highest level possible requires choices not a closed system.
Just some thoughts. Detroit City Till I Die
Our take and the original.
We wanted to take a more minimalist approach to the Nor'easters logo while seeking some inspiration from many of the German style crests and badges.
We kept the color scheme but wanted to utilize a simple circle badge with the inner white circle being broken so as to create a natural OC within the badge. We used the offset horizontal stripes as an ode to the Nor'easters partnership with Reading FC in the UK.
Red Aces (Lane United FC) PDL (D4)
Observations of a writer about D4 clubs in America.
The PDL and NPSL have around 80 teams each. I took it upon to write a thumbnail picture of both leagues for Stoppage Time Soccer. It's been a blessing and a brutal nightmare.
There are too many shields with soccer balls and excess stars in a complete absence of design proportions.
Who needs fans or supporters when you have a youth academy systems to provide all your support. (Google it)
Years of futility doesn't seem to bother most of the organizations. (Everyone gets a trophy right? )
The absolute carnage of organizations, name changes or one and done is frightening. (Build it and they will come right?)
States with large compact youth soccer and college can form their own D4/5 leagues to extend the seasons. [Texas(TPSL), Virginia and Cali]
500 in a 5000 seat stadium is a STUPID idea. (If you post a highlight video on YouTube and all I hear is the player talking, You're doing it Fucking wrong)
Certain PDL club have grown out of immigrant populations on the coasts. (Croatian clubs have their own national tournament. Serbs support FC Bordo in St. Louis.)
Having lots of foreign nationals on the roster means jack shit has far as being successful.
Successful organizations start that way. (A winning culture is a shared vision allowed to adapt and overcome temporary failure.)
Anything other than FC, A.F.C., SC or Real involving capital letters is confusing and a bad idea. (It's only a handful but)
The Long Island Rough Riders, Chattanooga FC, Detroit City FC (My Club), Brooklyn Italians, RVA FC, Anything Dutch Lions, BYU Cougars, Ocean City Nor'easters all have one thing in common. They all have a tradition of winning in front of crowds.
I'm sure there's more I'll think of later. CTID.

FC Tucson has a great supporter group, The Cactus Pricks. Just the name makes me smile. Good ya Lads.
The NASL has made my job a little easier by compiling the trades and signing for the week. And a busy week is was. The Rowdies look to be rebuilding the back line.

Greg Lalas posted this on twitter. The war over a simple word.

Out of time for now. All the other leagues have their schedules. When does the NPSL put there's out?
