At recruit training, all of us teenage girls got our periods at the same time. The army base bathrooms had no trashcans in the stalls so we resorted to throwing them in the main bathroom wastebasket. The female officers called us disgusting and punished us and eventually got us trashcans.

The NSCC requirement is 13-17 years old. So if I'm 16 turning 17 in December would they kick me out when I turn 17? Plus I would probably go to the winter rt so is it worth it to join or will I only be in till I turn 17?

When they say 13-17, those are the ages that they’ll accept kids. It is only once you turn 18/graduate from high school that you can’t be a cadet. At that point you can help out as a midshipman

Are the showers communal for rt at Camp Pendleton?

If you’re talking about California i have no clue, but in Virginia Beach they’re communal showers

In recruit training do you shower with other people, is there any privacy?

It depends on what base your training is at. Sometimes they have stalls and other times they’ll have communal showers. For recruit training it’s always awkward at first because you’ve just met all these people, but you soon form a bond with them. And when i say awkward, i’m not just talking about showering together, i mean living together for the span of the training. If you have any more questions ask away.
