I N T R O

1 / the isle of the lost is a hard place to live. the southern isles are nice to visit, but he can’t exactly go. hugo grows up in a small, decrepit castle right on the wharf on the isle. his father loved sailing once, and so being next to the water just seemed like a solid pick for the disgraced prince hans and his little son. his little son who he tries to love with all his heart, but he doesn’t seem to listen.

2 / it takes a good few years for hans to realise his little boy is deaf, and there is a deep guilt in him for missing it. what hugo knows though, what he is completely sure of, is that his dad is kind about it. for a man known for his callousness and uncaring attitude, the man does his best to support hugo. he gets the boy hearing aids from all the way over from auradon, he learns to sign and encourages hugo to sign and speak. hans knows he can prove he is a good man by doing the best for his son.

3 / and it’s something hugo notices. being at home is kind of the only safe space he knows. sure, his dad can be distant and cold sometimes, but the man has made sure he’s never gone without. hugo is bullied at school, his hearing aids stolen, his pointe shoes for his dance class placed on a shelf he can’t reach, his books flung across a classroom. he doesn’t know what to do, so he keeps his head down and stays quiet and when his tests come back with top marks, he doesn’t say a word.

4 / the world around him is hard, but when the world of the heroes opens up to people like him, hugo has to leave the salt water scented cold hallways of his home and explore. he wants to see the world his father used to live in -- he wants to see a horse and eat a cherry and do all the things the other kids got to do just because they were born to the right family. this sense of injustice in hugo runs deep, and the young man decides that with this new opportunity, he should pursue something that will help improve his own life, his father’s, and that of other islanders. 

5 / hugo decides to pursue law when he gets to auroria university. and sure, most of it is to improve the quality of life of the people he loves most, but he would be lying if he said none of his ambition was backed by spite for his bullies. and so the young sailor from the isle, who grew up with pirates in a stone cold palace in almost complete silence, has a spectacularly large chip on his shoulder. there’s a childlike glee inside of him, giddy and ready to burst, but he can’t help but hide it away. it’s been the root of his bullying problem, the root of his sensitivity... the root of everything, really. so it would be better to hide it and save himself the pain of embarrassment than be himself and humiliated later.

6 / he’s really unsure about this whole... villains and heroes coming together thing. sure, it’s a great idea on paper, but he’s pretty sure it won’t work out too well, considering the stories he’s sure the kids of auradon have been told. he’s not anticipating much of a welcome wagon or any niceties beyond what they’re obligated to do for show. he keeps to himself anyway, so really, this can’t be much different, can it?

he is gay as hell but most people probably think he’s entirely sexless bc he can be so distant but truly ?? he doesn’t care. too busy studying and dancing lmao

a very talented ballet dancer !!! he loves to dance and he feels so safe dancing, it just makes him feel so powerful and graceful

hugo is a pisces !! so basically he’s a weird ass romantic with an elusive streak.

schooling is a mess, and the home-schooling thing didn’t work, and basically del doesn’t really mind still being in high-school bc it just defers thinking about the future aha

personality/lifestyle

raised to be an aristocrat, and remembers all they learned, but struggles to actually act in the formal way their mother expects them to. doesn’t subscribe to the usual pompousness of the upper-class

but is still rather spoiled and naive in the “always gets what they want” kind of way

neutral & curious ! del isn’t someone who judges before they meet someone. they’ve been friends with the most open people and the most reserved (see: odette). they also tend to have an optimistic outlook on life so it takes a lot for them to really hate someone. and when they hate they can really hate jfkbvsjhr they trust their gut.

may be a bit of ‘curiosity killed the cat’ here bc while del doesn’t judge, they’re also very ..... annoyingly curious about things, so they may ask VKs questions about the isle and magic and things hhfhf

KATIE DOUGLAS,  DEMI-GIRL,  THEY/THEM.  —  looks  like PANDORA DAIMONAS  is  attending AURORIA UNIVERSITY  in  auradon.  they’re  the  TWENTY  year  old  child  of  PANIC,  which  means  they’re  from  THE ISLE OF THE LOST.  heard  they’re  IMAGINATIVE  &  DEDICATED,  but  can  also  be  PARANOID  &  SECRETIVE  ;  we all have our bad days.  people  normally  associate  them  with  SNEAKING AROUND AFTER DUSK, DETAILED SKETCHES IN A NOTEBOOK & A PILE OF MISMATCHED BUTTONS.  —  drew,  twenty-one, est,  he/him.

growing up with panic as a parent was interesting to say the least - the god that he served had no use for the minions that had failed him and yet he never strayed. even as it grew more obvious that they were never leaving - and that pain & panic might never regain hades favour, the small man remained loyal. and it was this twisted, undying loyalty that pandora learned to mimic in order to survive: they became a follower, even when the leaders on the isle did things that hurt them - never questioning decisions just blindly agreeing.

but in other ways, pandora recoiled inwards - secrets are guarded selfishly with the softest parts of themselves held behind this fake exterior that they’re terrified people will see through. much like a dragon guarding their hoard, anyone who attempts to develop a deeper bond will initially be met with an attempt to scare them off - a cold, nearing violent facade that they desperately hope most will accept at face value.

those few who do get past the icy exterior, might be surprised by what they see - for all that they play the role of quietly cruel minion rather well, in truth a creative soul hides behind the surface - drawings cover any scrap of paper that they can get their hands on as well as other surfaces on occasion. the nervousness that they inherited from their father presents as being overly analytical about almost everything ( though not enough so to interfere with their ability to nod along ) - their blindness an act more than actual ignorance. 

pandora in auradon - it’s the thing they always dreamed of, secretly: freedom. but they’re suspicious of the cost, after all auradon never showed any interest in them beforehand and now all of  a sudden they want to rescue them? yeah, right. they don’t necessarily believe in altruism - there’s always a selfish reason to do something no matter how small. 

besides their concerns about the fine print of being brought over to auradon, pandora doesn’t imagine that the union of heroes and villains will go well - there’s simply too much bad blood. for the meantime they’re willing to behave well enough to not be sent away unless something comes up.

assorted trivia:

is studying studio art at auroria university

has recently discovered / fallen in love with chocolate milk & fresh fruit ( a huge fan of oranges in particular )

has a leather drawstring pouch containing a collection of various things that they picked up around the isle - mainly buttons but also a handful of screws, pages from poetry books and about a dozen of those little plastic pizza tables. 

enjoys watching the sun set and rise - makes their way to the nearest shore twice a day to do just that.

wanted connections / plots:

the leader ( 0 / 1 ): this would be someone that pandora has followed in the past - whether they were the head of a group on the isle or just willing to have a lackey - they respect this person and will follow instructions given by them as long as it doesn’t jeopardize their stay in auradon without guaranteed payoff. how they treat pandora is up for discussion!

the other half ( 0 / 1 ): a fellow ‘minion’ they understand each other better than perhaps anyone else - this is one of the few people that knows pandora beyond the cold exterior that they generally presented on the isle. they’re close but they didn’t necessarily hang out with the same people, so their friendship existed mainly in the shadows or in the dead of night - but they’ve always made time for each other. 

the cold shoulder ( 0 / 1 ): upon pandora arriving in auradon, they received a particularly cold shoulder from this person - for whatever reason it seemed ( at least to pandora, the truth could be different ) that they were being rejected without even being given a chance. it’s one of the few times that they’ve been made to feel as though they want someone to get to know them, and it’s left them trying to convince the other to give them the time of day.

and of course, i’m open for other plots or connections ( literally anything ), those were just a few that i thought could be fun!

based on background details from the various movies, i’ve concluded that there is a substantial (if not huge) number of orphans on the isle of the lost. after all, the living conditions are pretty awful and there’s a lot of crime. ppl die.

she was seven when her biological parents died--old enough to remember them, but not old enough to remember much.

her biological parents were small-time baddies: think highway bandits or petty criminals who targeted the wrong people and subsequently got themselves booted onto the isle of the lost.

gothel’s been as close to a mother as imogen ever got. old and sickly, gothel took the girl in, deciding to raise her up for a few years and then use her as her personal cook/maid/errand runner.

imogen grew up basically a servant. as a child, she would tell herself that someone would come for her just like flynn rider came for rapunzel, but no one ever came.

gothel kept her on a tight leash. after losing such an asset in rapunzel, gothel wasn’t about to let someone like imogen get away again.

growing up in gothel’s household made imogen sneaky and resourceful. she got good at hearing footsteps and listening for gothel’s snores. she got accustomed to sneaking out whenever gothel slept and running around the neighborhood kids before sun rose and she had to go back to being a servant in her own home.

having not been under gothel’s thumb her entire like, imogen has a clear enough idea of her worth. she knows that she was not meant to be a servant, and she could never be content with pleasing gothel.

moreover, after seeing how dependence on magic and the work of other people turned gothel into a shadow of a human being, imogen swore to herself never to be dependent on anyone or anything.

imogen never found herself really allying with anybody. she was, at most, a lone wolf with a few people that she trusted.

imogen also ate up what little education there was on the isle, hoping that that would be her way off. she especially loved science and chemistry. imogen’s motto? “science is just magic that anyone can do.”

since she was a kid, imogen was prone to performing little science experiments when nobody was looking. sometimes they’d work well. sometimes they wouldn’t.

it was the result of one of these experiments that left imogen with a spatter of scars on her face. (so imagine her scars are like these bc it’s really hard to find an fc who doesn’t look model perfect)

beauty’s never been important to imogen, but she’s very aware that she would have been perceived as pretty if not for the incident, but since she’s so survival-minded, she doesn’t really care how she looks.

though her science has scarred her, it has also saved her. imogen’s never been much of a fighter, but she’s quick on her feet, and she’s perfected ways to make slingshot ammo and smoke bombs for quick escapes

now that she’s away from home, imogen’s trying very hard to leave her old life behind and prove herself worthy of a spot here. she’s studying hard, and she wants to catch up and graduate auroria university as fast as possible and join society. possibly a career in pharmacy or medicine? who knows, man

she personally is apathetic toward the heroes and the villains coming together. does she think that everything will work out? no. she doesn’t trust the heroes who thought locking literal children away on an island was a good either, and while she’s definitely more sympathetic to isle-dwellers, she doesn’t have much trust there either. she’s in this for herself; at this point, nothing matters more to her than her own survival and success in auradon.

though she’s extremely smart, there’s actually a lot of gaps in imogen’s knowledge:

friendship? what is that? this girl doesn’t exactly know how to make friends or just be pleasant in general. it’s a miracle she has the few people she has.

romance? who is she? imogen’s had her fair share of crushes and hook-ups, but she’s never been in a real relationship.

she will not share, like at all. a whole childhood of going hungry means that imogen will never loan anyone a dress or split the last slice of pie in half because everything is hers

self-destructive as hell. does not know how to take care of herself and step away from a problem. she’s full speed ahead every hour of every day

BACKGROUND.

cora grew up very close to her family and she loved spending time with them. she would spend most of her time with her family and while as she got older there would be disagreements between her and her parents she still loved them at the end of the day.

growing up she was pulled towards the sea, and would spend as much time as she could in the water. as she got older she would sneak under the sea never staying away long enough for anyone to notice that she was truly gone. while she was in atlantica she would spend time in her mom’s grotto or simply just swimming around. 

while her father loved sailing on his boat she preferred spending more time in the water rather than on a boat, but it is still a place that she feels at home having spent most of her life running around on it. 

when she had finished auradon prep she wasn’t sure if she should go to auroria university or to atlantica university. eventually, she was persuaded by the friends she had to go to auroria. 

now that’s she’s in her first year at auroria she is extremely happy with her decision.

RANDOM FACTS.

one of the few things on land that make her feel the same freedom that she does while swimming is when she is playing the piano. playing the piano is one of her favorite things to do when she has free time and she has gotten really skilled with playing over the years. 

she doesn’t know if she believes in true love like her parents had. she knows that it possible and that true love is magic, but it seems strange for her to imagine having someone be her true love. 

cora never really enjoyed math or science in school (although biology was never as bad as chem). she still preformed well in her classes, but she never really enjoyed those. her favorite classes were history and literature. she loved learning about the past and what had happened. she also really enjoy art classes and could often be found sketching during her classes. 

she loves the ocean and can’t stand to be away from it for long because she sees it as a part of herself. for that reason she does spend most of her time by the beach.

as for the villains and heroes becoming one team was something that she supported. with her love of history she learned so much about past and everything that had happened. she’d be more than willing to try to help them settle in. 

PERSONALITY. 

cora is a very kind and caring person once someone gets to know her. she tends to be a bit private about how she feels or what she thinks about things. when it comes to important topics to her she can be very loud and outspoken about fighting for what she believes in. 

she can also tend to be quite impulsive. when she wants to do something she has a hard time holding herself back. she tends to follow her heart for everything which can leave her in situations that she never expected. 

she tends to be, for the most part, easy going. that being said she has a huge heart and is extremely protective and caring over her friends and would do anything for them.

her friends & best friend that convinced her to go to auroria. they would be extremely important to cora, and she’d spend most of her time with them.

milena boogie has never celebrated her birthday 

from the day she was born her father made it clear such folly was not to be observed in their household, that or any other holiday. 

he called it useless but milena knew the truth 

jack skellington had undone him at the seams on christmas night years ago and so he grew resentful of that and every other holiday 

and so that was her life, only keeping track of her birthday in a calendar and every other holiday decorating a small hidden box in celebration every year 

she made herself busy servicing her father’s seemingly endless appetite for gambling running around their makeshift basement casino on the isle

but the times when she wasn’t overshadowed by his presence she spent dreaming of someplace good someplace better 

she hadn’t inherited any of the inclination towards mischief like the other vks. she was unfortunately amicable and would rather end a fight than start one 

she never fit in with the others so she filled up her time with hobbies; namely dancing

she taught herself everything she could be she always dreamed of dancing somewhere besides the four walls of her bedroom 

she wanted to see the world, see auradon, and most of all see halloweentown

when the chance to go to auradon was presented she was one of the first to throw her hat in the ring 

she was eager to go somewhere she felt she could finally fit in and be accepted

but now that she’s here she finds herself faced with prejudice and judgement from all sides and once again alone with her dreams
