Bathing with The Straw Hats... (One Piece Request)
Pairings: Zoro x Reader, Usopp x Reader, Luffy x Reader, Sanji x Reader,
Author's Note: Thanks for this sweet straw hat request, with very smutty potential 💕 I hope everyone enjoyed all the shirtless scenes in the new seasons of the live action as much as I did 😇 AFAB reader for smut purposes but no pronouns used.
Roronoa Zoro
- No matter how many times Zoro saves your life with the use of his swords, you'll never get used to how much mess the three blades seem to make. You're not one to complain about his heroics, especially when it was so obvious that he felt intensely protective over you in particularly, but today as you wiped blood from your arms you sort of wished he just kicked the bad guys like Sanji did.
- "Come on Zoro, I saw an inn up the road, we can probably grab a shower there." You tried not to sound too ungrateful as you steered him in the right direction, way too far from the ship to even consider walking the way back there in this state.
"You could at least say thank you." He rolled his eyes in response, but sounded genuinely a bit hurt by your tone, wondering what he's managed to do wrong this time.
"Sorry Zoro, and thank you." You slowly your pace slightly to take his hand in yours, seemingless appeasing the swordsman who now wore a gentle smile as he strolled alongside, "I just don't love being covered in blood." You mumbled quickly, hoping he'd barely catch it, but you weren't that lucky.
"I don't exactly love it either, but you don't hear me complaining. Next time I'll only save your life if I can be completely spotless afterwards, is that what you think?" He huffed at the implication, barely looking at you as you negotiated with the innkeeper and secured a room key, leading the slightly ranting swordsman down a hall with his hand still clinging to yours.
"I'm sorry Zoro, I should have just said thank you." You sigh out in the sweetest voice you can muster, letting your heads rest against his broad chest the moment the two of you were alone in your room, searching his stern gaze for the telltale sign of him softening against you.
"You should be sorry, and you should let me shower first as an apology." A smirk spread across his face momentarily, until you managed to make his expression falter with a simple offer,
"I can think of a better apology." The words came out in a sultry purr, your hands slowly unbuttoning his stained shirt as your eyes stayed locked on his.
"Oh yeah.." Zoro tried to match your confident energy, but you could see the slight tremble in his hands as he eased your own shirt over your head, switching on the shower and letting the rest of his clothes fall off with each deliberate step.
- The water of the shower seemed to wash away any inhibitions that had held the two of you back for far too long. The second warm water hit your skin, Zoro's lips found yours, hungry and impatient, his body caging yours against the nearest wall. Your hands skim against his chest, massaging tight muscles and rinsing away the aftermath of battle, each touch earning a needy groan from him that seems to only encourage him more. Your hands trail lower, finding the swordsman's manhood already hard and pressing into your thigh, quickly pumping your hand over it a few times and feeling his sensitive body twitching against you, your kiss swallowing up deep moans as he quickly falls apart at your touch. It won't take long until his spill hot ropes of cum over your stomach, whining with overstimulation as your hand keeps moving, washing away every drop of mess from the two of you. Zoro is going to insist you get every penny's worth for that room for the night.
Luffy
- It's not often that you can get your boyfriend to sit still, the enthusiastic captain always dragging you to some new adventure with his long arm wrapped around your waist. So when you find a warm hot springs on a walk with just the two of you, and he agrees to take a break to bathe together, you think this might be the most relaxing date you've ever been on.
- You should have known better than to expect Luffy to just relax though. The second your clothes are off and the warm water is up to your shoulders, he's all over you. Needy hands are pulling you against his chest, exploring every newly exposed inch of skin like a man starved. He's excitedly tell you how good you look without any clothes on, and how he wishes you could walk around like this all the time because he loves touching you so much and there's always too many layers in the way, his lips sucking against your neck in between compliments and taking your breath away. Through the thick steam rising from the water you can't tell where his eager hands are moving to next, fingers making the most of trailing along your stomach down between your folds, then squeezing your chest and teasing your nipples setting every nerve of your body alight. It was overwhelming, the speed and intensity of every touch against you, your head swimming as your boyfriend made quick work of working you up into a frenzy, a needy whine of his name slipping between your lips and only drawing a mischievous laugh from him.
"So you like being like this with me too, huh?" It was pure joy from your boyfriend at your reaction, only spurring him on to focus on your pleasure even more, one hand now settling between your legs as his lips landed hungrily against yours. One finger slipped inside you, followed quickly by a second, pumping in and out of you while his thumb drew tight circles over your sensitive button, feeling your hips chase his every movement. His lips swallowed each moan his actions drew from you, his free hands still rapidly exploring your exposed skin, making the most of every part of you that he could tease and touch.
"Lu-" You could barely speak, the pleasure and sensation so intense it felt like your body might set alight if he kept touching you devotedly.
"Mm, I'm right here." He let out with an eager chuckle, watching your lips fall open as the pressure building inside you reached its breaking point, your whole body shaking as your walls clenched around his still exploring fingers. "That's it." He coaxed every drop of pleasure from you as your head fell against his shoulder, each delicious noise you let out only fascinating him further. As you came down from your high you wrapped a hand loosely around his wrist, giving a gentle tug but feeling him stay exactly where he was.
"Don't be silly, we're staying here all day!"
Sanji
- Not a day goes by where Sanji doesn't do everything he can to be close to you, to take care of you, to shower you with the affections you so obviously deserve. But he feels so unworthy of your kindness and love, that he can't face you doing anything to help him. That's why you have to trick him into letting you take care of him.
- You notice he's been achy all day, a particularly tough battle taking it out of him, but you've been through this enough times to know if you offer to give him a massage it will somehow end up with him turning the favour back on you before you can begin to protest. So you come up with another plan. Before you even approach him, you fill a bathtub with the warmest water you can, adding some lavender you borrowed from Chopper and setting a few small lanterns around the room to create a relaxing vibe for the overworked chef.
- With everything prepared, you find him scrubbing pots in the kitchen, letting out a dramatic sigh as you enter the room. Sanji immediately whips his head around to examine you, stopping just in front of you with a few quick strides, eyes scanning purposefully for the source of your distress.
"What's wrong my beloved? Who dares pain you?" You bring a your hand to rest gently against his cheek, stealing a slow kiss from the smitten man before you reply,
"I'm just aching my sweetheart, and I need your help with something?" Your interlace your fingers with his and start leading him away from his duties before he can ask any questions, already swearing to move heaven and earth if it means he can alleviate your pain. By the time you have him stood beside the bathtub and he's starting to wonder what you need his help with, your shrugging off your clothes and bringing your fingers to unbutton his shirt and there isn't enough blood left in his brain for him to work out that he's been tricked.
- "Please join me, love." You put so much emphasis on the final word that you're worried Sanji might pass out and drown, the blonde nodding his head vigorously and waiting for you to guide him into the water, happily taking the spot behind you so you can lean back against his strong chest. Ever the devoted worshipper of your form, Sanji's quick to start pouring handfuls of water over your shoulders, and gently massaging the skin there, still not daring to focus on his own relaxation. So you decide to take matters into your own hands, literally, reaching behind your back and feeling his length stiffening in your touch.
"You - don't have - to" Sanji can barely form a protest when your touch feels this good, a soft sigh of his name enough to silence his attempt, his manhood twitching in your hand until you're satisfied you have him under your control. Sanji barely registers that you're lifting your hips until he feels you guiding him inside of you, a choked gasp leaving his lips as you take him deep into your core, settling onto his lap and feeling his muscular thigh tense and relax underneath you.
"Thank you gorgeous, this feels so much better." You sigh out as you slowly buck your hips against his, letting your head fall back against his shoulder so your lips can explore the soft skin of his neck as he struggles to take a breath. He's so grateful to be taking care of you that he'll barely realise how much better he's feeling until much later, when you've driven him to ecstasy inside you at least once.
Usopp
- Every day is the scariest day of Usopp's life. And you inviting him to join you in a bath is no exception. You two have crossed the lines into physical love before, but that doesn't make it any less terrifying when you offer him these beautiful new experiences like they aren't ultimately magic to your adoring sniper.
- He gives himself a pep talk as he shrugs off his overalls in the changing room of the local bath houses you two stumbled upon, hoping the towel around his waist will hide some of his excitement for the activity ahead, adrenaline coursing through his veins as he comes to find the private little spa room you'd talked your way into.
- Steam clouds his vision momentarily as he steps through the little wooden door, suddenly clearing and making way for him to see you sat with your arms stretched out either side of you, humming contentedly at the warmth surrounding you. Usopp genuinely thinks this might be the death of the great captain Usopp.
"It's so nice here, quick, get in!" You smile so easily despite the situation, causing Usopp a new level of panic, seeing you so exposed as you splash a handful of water his way sending his mind racing.
"Yep, yep, I'm coming." His voice comes out way too low, and he turns his back on you to take off his towel for some reason, climbing into the water and sitting on the opposite side of the little pool to you.
"Why are you sitting so far away?" Your voice sounds so disappointed at his actions that it makes Usopp's heart ache, any insecurity suddenly being overridden with his intense affections for you. He forces his fears to the back of his mind and closes the distance between you in a single dive, practically letting himself lay on top of you instead, his heart hammering in his chest as it presses against yours.
"Sorry, I got a little nervous." He says quietly, so sincere as he places a soft, apologetic kiss against your cheek, letting you pull him in for a deeper kiss as your arms wrap around his back.
"Me too," You let out in an excited giggle, melting Usopp's heart and giving him the boost he needed to rest his hands on your waist, the feel of your soft wet skin against his palms with no clothes in the way sending his mind racing. "We'll just have to stay in here until neither of us is nervous anymore." There's a devilish look in your eye as you speak again, and for a second Usopp's sure he's never going to leave this pool of water alive, but if that's how he has to go it's certainly the best offer he's had so far. He steadies his nerves as his grips tugs you tighter against him, his voice dipping low as he spoke again,
"I can think of a few ways to pass the time." He thinks it's about time Captain Usopp added another great romantic tale to his repertoire.

ᯓ★.ᐟ Luffy will Occasionally take naps every week or so, and when he does he always makes sure you’re with him. He usually likes to lay his head in your lap while you two sit on the head of the sunny, and unfortunately, it's usually not uncommon for a certain chef to come interfering because of jealousy over the fact Luffy gets to nap with you whenever he pleases.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Naps with Luffy are either super short like 5 minutes, or super long like - 3 hours… and if you’re also feeling particularly tired then instead of sleeping on the head of the sunny; you’ll sleep in the men's cabin with one of the lower bunks with him.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Napping with Luffy usually gets very chaotic very quickly unless Luffy is extremely tired out, usually after a long island adventure; He’ll try and start pillow fights, play games, and maybe even try to sing a lullaby (you can imagine how that is…)
ᯓ★.ᐟ But once he eventually tires himself out he’ll wrap his arms around you tightly or be sprawled out all over the bed; making you have to maneuver to find a somewhat comfortable place to sleep with him.

ᯓ★.ᐟ It has become routine to nap with Zoro; After his daily training, he’ll look for you on the sunny and pick you up, carelessly tossing you over his shoulder and bringing you to either the crow's nest or the helm area of the sunny to nap with you. You don't mind this of course, but it was a little surprising at first when he’d just randomly pick you up and take you somewhere. But now you’ve gotten used to it, and even make sure you're not doing anything important when he comes to pick you up.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Naps often get interrupted (even more than luffy) not just because you’re napping with someone, but because your napping with Zoro of all people; and much to no one's surprise they get interrupted by a peculiar blond chef; He’s yelling, sobbing, kicking and screaming over the fact YOU chose zoro and nap every day with him.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Naps with Zoro are long and most of the time he’s got an arm around your shoulder or waist to pull you close (and he also feels better if you're close to him incase something happens so he can protect you first; even though he’ll never admit that to you). His grip on you isn't super tight though unless you fall asleep first which rarely happens - so if he’s asleep for hours and you decide you want to get up and do something else; you can easily stand up and do so.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Naps with Nami are very rare; she doesn't nap much due to being the strawhats navigator and feeling like she needs to be there 24/7 on the watch just in case something happens. But when she does nap; she usually plans it out and if you decide to join her that's even better. It's usually like having her set specific times so that she knows it's during a time of day when Robin (or someone else responsible) can look after navigating the ship properly.
ᯓ★.ᐟ It never usually any other place than her bed during the evenings after dinner because that's usually the calmest time on the ship; waves gently rowing back and forth while Nami lays in your arms against your chest (or vice versa) while she catches up on her much-needed sleep.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Nami is a light sleeper, so that means it's your job not to wake her up and prevent anything from waking her up (mostly Sanji banging on the door begging to be let in). But in the small case she does wake up; she doesn't try and go back to sleep unless she’s very exhausted, but if she’s not; she’ll just turn off her upcoming alarm and get back to her daily routine.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Usopp will Not nap with you when you first start dating, mostly because he’s afraid he’ll embarrass himself in his sleep. But after a good while of being together, he’ll be more than happy to join you in naps, or have you join him.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Naps with Usopp aren't super rare; but also not super common. It usually happens if it's a rather boring day on the sunny or he’s tired out from playing games with Luffy and Chopper all day. He’ll sorta try and (not very) subtly hint at you that he’s gonna take a nap, doing things like dramatically yawning or saying stuff like “Man, it's been a pretty tiring day” then immediately staring in your direction.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Though; the first 30 minutes usually is just Usopp telling you another one of his ‘real’ adventure stories while you lay your head on his shoulder. He prefers to nap indoors like in the aquarium bar or crow's nest while Zoro’s not there, He’ll sit next to you leaning against the wall or cushion of the chair with his arm around you while you lay your head on his shoulders.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Usopp is a pretty normal sleeper when it comes to lightness or heaviness; If he needs to wake up for something then you won't usually have any probably waking him up; that is unless its right after a particularly tiring mission…then he’s gonna be asleep for at least 3 hours after dinner.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Sanji will get on his hands and knees and be your own personal bed for your nap.
ᯓ★.ᐟ But also Sanji himself never naps that often, like ever. But if you want to then he’ll be more than happy to prep an entire room, and ambiance, and physically beat anyone (not the girl's ofc) who dares to make a possible disturbance
ᯓ★.ᐟ But oh you wanna nap with him?! Nosebleed, passed out, giggling, blushing, screaming. It takes him 30 minutes to calm down from just the thought of you wanting to nap with him.
ᯓ★.ᐟ When you do eventually get to napping with him he’s got his arms fully wrapped around you, eyes glued to your face, examining every slightest expression change, to make sure you’re getting enough rest of course! Not because he’s obsessed with you…
ᯓ★.ᐟ His heart is pounding the entire time though, luckily its a bit soothing for you since you had your head laid on his chest
ᯓ★.ᐟ Its routine at this point that Chopper has a daily nap with either you or Robin, but not usually at a set time; he’ll just sorta wait until you're sitting somewhere on the floor/deck of the sunny then come in and sit next to you or in your lap depending on how tired he then falls asleep almost immediately after taking off his hat.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Choppers naps are short, like very short; no more than 30 minutes at most. He prefers it that way as well since he wants to make sure he can tend to immediate wounds if needed; or if the sunny gets attacked then he can be ready to defend it.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Unfortunately; Chopper does still have nightmares sometimes even on these short naps, and it's pretty obvious when it happens cause he’ll way up with his hair on edge and a concerned or fearful expression. You don't usually try and make him talk about them just in case it was based on some traumatic experience, so instead you’ll subtly get him to start talking about whatever current study or treatment he’s interested and he’ll forget he even had a nightmare.
ᯓ★.ᐟ …Robin almost never naps…but on the extremely rare occasion she does; it's because of exhaustion from a long adventure on an island where she might have gotten slightly injured; or just pushed her energy a bit too far.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Robin likes to nap in the aquarium bar or her bed after she’s finished or falls asleep while reading a book. She’s not much of a cuddler either; but she of course likes when your near still so you’ll just sit next to her and she’ll put her hand on top of yours before she falls asleep.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Robins naps usually around 30-45 minutes depending on how tired she is; she’s just not a big fan of napping since she usually has a pretty normal sleep schedule as well. But if she has to she will. You by her side; a warm cup of tea nearby and a quiet, dim environment for the both of you.
ᯓ★.ᐟ Franky really only takes naps when he’s bored or left alone on the ship with all his work finished Though if you start wanting or joining him for naps he will start taking more naps just to spend time with you
ᯓ★.ᐟ He loves if you sleep on his chest, even if it's not the most comfortable for you at times he still likes it. His arms lazily wrapped around your waist while his chest slowly rises and falls as he breathes softly
ᯓ★.ᐟ Naps are either 5 minutes or 2 hours. There is No between whatsoever, and you have no say in how long the naps are; once you start napping w/ him he ain't letting go until he’s awake
ᯓ★.ᐟ But he’s not forcing you to join him, though he will ‘subtly’ hint he’s gonna take a nap and wants you to come along. overdramatic yawn and stretch “I sure am tired! Im gonna take a cozy nap! It would be pretty super to nap with someone though!”
ᯓ★.ᐟ Brook rarely naps, and it's rather uncomfortable when if you decide to join, he has a pretty bone-y chest, arms, everything. And no body heat so it's just like napping with an in-animate object…
ᯓ★.ᐟ He likes your company though! Even though the two of you don't exactly cuddle he still likes it when you’re there, and that goes for everything, after spending so long alone on a ship he’s extremely grateful for every moment he can spend with someone like you
ᯓ★.ᐟ But since naps are so rare, they usually last for a good amount of time, and also happen usually when its storming in the evening, it adds to the ambiance and since he doesn’t like being in the rain much, it's a nice way to pass the time.

Luffy: He's literally so proud of just his hammock. Insists it can hold the both of you and could probably hold the entire crew if you tried, asks if you want to try, asks you if you’re sure when you say no. Definitely has a couple of dirty dishes that he’s forgotten about, as well as a few wrappers on the floor. Has some fishing poles, a net, quite a few different games, and a bookshelf that’s full of both comic books and snacks so that he doesn’t have to go all the way to the kitchen if he gets hungry in the middle of the night.
Zoro: Your first thought is, why does it smell so freaking good in here? You expected dirty laundry strewn around and the stench of sweat and maybe a hint of metal from those blades he was always sharpening. And sure, there is a hint of metal in the air, probably more from the many weights against the wall than his swords, but it also smells fresh, like laundry detergent. He has his own wanted posters on his wall- not just the current one, but the old ones, too, all of them lined up in order so you can see his increasing bounty. He also has a collection of unique booze bottles from all over the world, his equivalent of keeping a map with pins in the locations he’s visited. Oh, and there’s an anatomy coloring book and some markers that belong to Chopper that Zoro keeps in his room because sometimes when Chopper is having a bad day, he wants to chill with his dad big bro.
Sanji: Sparkling clean, and yet, he’ll apologize anyway because the pillows aren’t fluffy enough, the rug isn’t completely straight, etcetera. His closet is very well organized, all of his clothes ironed and properly taken care of (Sanji’s the rare type to actually read labels and do his laundry accordingly). His most prized possession is a book on the All Blue, which he’s poured over countless times, using color coded tabs to flag various pages and writing detailed notes in the margins. He also came across one of Zeff’s old wanted posters in Loguetown, and he keeps it framed next to his own, the closest thing he has to a family photo.
Usopp: You’re surprised to find he has quite a bit of clutter in his small space. He has a collection of different style slingshots and a surplus of supplies to fix them should they ever break, as well as literal boxes full of special stars and ammunition. He has an entire set up rigged on his desk to create more, and some plants in his windowsill to grow ingredients. In addition, his bookshelves are heavy with various collections of fables and tales; he’s working on his own and hopes to publish it one day, but he doesn’t talk about it because he’s worried nobody will take him seriously, and you only learn about it when you see the notebook he left on his bed. He also has a couple of fun hats, crazy sunglasses, and feather boas that he definitely pulls out when the Straw Hats get a little too drunk. Oh, and there’s a picture of his parents on his nightstand.
Ace: His cabin is pretty sparse because he tends to travel light. He has a collection of animal teeth secured from a menagerie of wild beasts he’s taken down over the years, and he’s very proud of those teeth. He'll tell you about each one if you ask, is practically bursting at the seems with stories. He has way more animal teeth than he does clothing or books. Also has a pretty sick tiger pelt for a rug (he had intended it as a blanket, but he runs so hot he can’t actually sleep with it). He has Luffy’s wanted poster on his wall, and beside it, a note reminding himself to send money back to Dadan on the first of every month. Buried in the chest at the foot of his bed, he has the original ASL flag.
Sabo: His bedroom at the Revolutionary Army’s base is a total bachelor pad, and when you see it for the first time, it wasn’t planned, so he’s a little embarrassed by the state of it. He has some dirty dishes he forgot about, some dirty laundry on the floor, and a pile of books on his bed. He spends virtually no time there and probably wouldn’t even have furniture beyond a mattress on the floor if it wasn’t provided by the Revolutionary Army as part of his living quarters. That being said, he did pin Luffy’s and Ace’s wanted posters to his wall, and he has a couple of different lotions and skincare products on his bathroom counter.
Law: You don’t know what you were expecting- would it be sterile like an operating room? You’re surprised to see comic books and a few action figures. He has some records, too- a bit of rock, some low-key emo music- and to your complete and utter surprise, a candy wrapper on his nightstand. And then there’s the coin collection on his desk, tiny pieces of metal he picked up on his many travels. You’re careful not to have a big reaction to his personality showing through for once.
“I like your action figures.”
“They’re kind of childish, but-”
You cut him off before he can dismiss his own interests as dumb. “No, they’re not. They’re cool.”
Kid: It’s as messy and ostentatious as you’d expect, but he sheepishly tries to fold the leopard-print blanket crumpled on the bed and put some laundry in the hamper, though you quickly deduce he has no clue which clothes belong in the hamper and which go in his closet. It’s shocking to see him care what someone thinks. He has a pile of lipstick and nail polish on his desk and an impressive collection of weapons he’s stolen from various pirates; he could probably open a museum with all the weapons he has. Also has lots of tools he forgot were in there. TBH, he’s probably as shocked as you are by the state of his cabin because he spends most of his alone time in his workshop, anyway.

⟢ this man is the textbook definition of a secret sweetheart, i could even argue he’s more of one than sanji. however he is not a typical gentleman. there is just that level of banter that you can share with usopp that you couldn’t share with sanji. your inside jokes never go too far, and he knows how to push your buttons jokingly but only to a certain point. you guys were practically best friends before you got together so it only makes sense that friendship continues into the relationship.
⟢ ok so you know how he loves bugs, i feel like he’s the same with plants and he knows, like reallllyyyy knows what you like. stopping at a new island, he’s already picked out 3 flowers and 2 fragrant fruits (+ the seeds) to grow for you. certain spices make you sneeze? he’s adding that to sanji’s ’DO NOT BUY’ list of groceries. it’s gotten to the point where sanji just asks him to make a seperate shopping list for you so that he doesn’t keep messing with the main one.

⟢ again with the hair thing, he loves to match hairstyles with you, fulani braids, mini twists, mini braids, twist outs, cornrows or a bun on lazy days. you have tried to teach him how to braid but it’s like he has 2 left hands when it comes to hair. you stay confused on how he can make so many gadgets but can’t even grasp three stranded twists. secretly though, he does know the basics but he likes the feeling of your hands in his hair, no matter how rough you may be. you have earned quite a hefty amount of side eyes when your nails snag a knot that was missed when detangling. he swears you do it on purpose, interrupting his ‘beauty sleep’.
⟢ his self worth is deeply tied to being of use to others. he absolutely adores it when he is the first person you look for. wether it’s simply reaching out for his arm when an unexpected noise scares you, giving him that knowing ‘we are exploring this island together, right?’ look when nami exclaims you guys will be docking soon, asking specifically for his opinions on things that matter to you. or just simple favours
⟢ he loves the nickname ‘captain’ especially in bed. however you refrain from calling him that around the rest of the crew in respect for your real captain. so it’s like a secret only he gets to hear fall in broken whispers from your sweet lips as he denies your orgasm. “say it again but with my name this time” he demands from you “captain usopp” you manage to choke out
⟢ suffers heavily from ‘i give the best advice but don’t follow it because i hope that one day someone will tell me exactly what i need to hear as well’ he sincerely hopes you are that person
⟢ he can read you like a book and can sense what you need before you even do. youre trying to add to the plans but it’s just so chaotic, he’s already advocating for you “guys listen to y/n really quick, she’s been trying to say something”. if you’re forcing yourself to stay awake, he’ll gently take you by the hand to a quiet area on the deck for a ‘short’ nap, hes lowk a good nap partner, not the very best but definetly up there.
⟢ finds it hilarious when you squirm each time he tickles your skin with his beard
⟢ really hates pda. if he so much as senses someone's footsteps while he is wrapped around you, lips on your shoulder he’s squirming away as quickly as possible and has the expression of a child who got caught doing something they weren't meant to. in public, a potential elbow resting on your shoulder is alright if you’re both standing around doing… anything, but the whole arm?? no he can’t do that.
⟢ he is the best defender there is, will not hesitate to start arguments with the rest of the crew in your defence if something is said about you in passing, even as a joke. in hopes that you are defending him just as hard when he’s not around.
⟢ one of his favourite things to do when youre visibly tired is ask if he can carry you. there are only two ways he does this. 1. giving you a piggy back ride, which he is the self proclaimed master of, 2. standing behind you and snaking his arms around your waist, because he loves the way you bring your knees up to your chest, and then allowing you both to fall backwards onto the bed to end the day with cuddling.
⟢ has a bad habit of forgetting that you actually like him for more reasons than 1 and it won’t be that easy for any random person to steal you away from him. this results in many nights ending in awkward silence after you entertain a conversation with a friendly man for a minute too long. you do try and talk him out of these feelings but it takes alotttt of convincing.
⟢ there is nothing usopp hates more than fighting with you or upsetting you. so when you two argue, he always has an unspoken agenda to try and prove something to you. if you tell him “you never plan things properly” hes the first person to pitch in ideas when the whole crew is discussing what to do at the next island. and what’s worse is if you compare him to someone else, he will spend months keeping that on his mind even after you have apologised and the matter has been long forgotten.

honestly his goes perfectly for luffy’s character cuz as we all know, he will adopt ANYTHING. so if your comforting presence was felt and needed wherever you met and he thinks “more of this would make me happy” (as if he’d say it that formal 🗿🗿🤣) then it’s easy as pie for you to join the crew!
i just love how “realistic” it is to be able to become a strawhat even as a regular person. like this dude is so accepting it’s quite LITERALLY harder to not get in/escape (once he wants you). the entire crew has to protest and even then there’s still a chance their getting in! (robin im talking about robin) but ANYYYWAYYYY!
once you got in life probably gets better ngl. like life as a pirate is undeniably fun and freeing as it is threatening and dangerous. :) so as a normal peep you could be screaming with usopp chopper and nami or maybe you’re not easily spooked like robin. either way luffy definitely has his moments where he needs you to be there for him.
he has a lot of hard moments, (⚠️‼️SPOILERS throughout the series up to marineford‼️⚠️, (which sounds obvious for the point i’m making) when the crew splits up, when he’s losing to a stronger enemy, when crewmates leave, when he loses his brother, when his crewmates get kidnapped (he isn’t so much worried as he is angry for this one, but support is always good).
and even for more simpler moments he’s really grateful for you! like when sanji says no food, and you explain and reason with him that everyone’ll literally perish if he eats everything. when his strawhat gets an injury and you comfort him while nami patches it.
now as for you not being very strong that’s no problem! cuz he is!! he’ll support you physically and you to him emotionally! tbh i wouldn’t be surprised if you were often targeted along with nami or robin (regardless of how you identify ofc) bc it’s known that your not exactly the strongest in the group!
luffy would ask usopp to build you something to protect yourself like nami! or maybe tell franky to make you half robot too! and no—that’s totally not self indulgent—and no he didn’t request you to have an automatic food maker in your stomach like franky does with cola. whether you agree to this or not…is up to you..🤣😂😂

even before you really settle in the crew and build a strong bond he (as will everyone else—on the crew is on the crew in the strawhat’s book) will protect you fiercely with everything he has. as we all know he’s a tad hard on himself when it comes to being strong enough to protect his crewmates.
and tbh as is luffy now that i think abt it, never realized they were the same in that aspect til just now. as i was saying! from day one he’ll protect you like it’s day one thousand. i can’t even really say “and even more so when you get close” , because he’s never slacked on protecting anyone. but just know this man values you, and wants you safe 👍

honestly him being kind to fodder goes hand in hand w his background ifykyk but his mom was also a kind person so not only does he make it a point to be one too but he also just is naturally! even with his backstory and being crazy strong for the most part he does fit “normal” criteria!

chopper can handle regular people well, (once he warms up to them anyway) and finds abnormal people like franky to be cool, so no matter what boat you’re in he’s pretty much okay with you. especially after he joined the crew, meeting many kind people, and goin through many adventures that helped him open up and become more brave
he can certainly handle a regular person now!! >:D really he’s just curious to see what you’re like what your interests and intentions are. heavy on intentions, since you’re a regular person you could be anybody! he’s slightly wary at first, but the soothing reassurance of you constantly acting normal doesn’t let him keep his guard up long :)
bonus if you’re just as scared of adventures as he, usopp and nami. and even if you aren’t he admires you! like luffy! only your normal…😂 whenever he wants to read, play chess or take a nap he comes to your uplifting, consistent presence. however you joining the crew automatically makes you important. and whatever you did to convince luffy you should join is valid to her! especially since she herself didn’t intend on joining until luffy left her with no other place to go!
she is very curious on what a normal life would be like. obviously she knows it to some degree. but more so what would having a loving/regular home be like. is it boring? living a regular life? perhaps that’s why you agreed to join? to spice things up?
she’d ask you to write about it, your life story, so she can compare it to hers. if you just joined she won’t go into super detail about hers. which would be kinda triggering if you agreed to write down yours for her. but she’ll make it a thing to give you bits and trinkets of it the longer you’re on the crew.
she knows all about how pirates can betray one another, having done so herself. and if you’re new that leaves more room for a detached breach of trust. especially in the case you get singled out and interrogated by other pirates or marines to safe your own. she could see that, very plausible.
but if you ask her why she continues to tell even bits and pieces about herself anyway, she’ll say it’s simply because she trusts you. as simple (and ironic) as it is, it’s true. there’s something about the fact that you’re so regular that relaxes her. it’s reassuring in the weirdest way, contradicting the scenario she just laid out.
not only that though, she trusts luffy- LOL. and by that i mean to drag you back because he’s never let a single member he’s deemed his nakama go. 😀 somehow that reminds me to talk about her protecting you! dw she’ll do it well.

after that interaction he takes protecting you very seriously. as he would any of your crewmates tbh. even if that hadn’t of happened you’re still under their wing now, and he will go to bat for his people.
your funny side is definitely smth he can get behind and in fact join in on. even with a straight face. franky is a ridiculous, goofy and 100% shameless character who loves a good silly moment. he will indeed join in on all your jokes, antics and anything inbetween. making his own all the while—yeah he’s cool with it. and of course, chopper usopp and luffy are laughing, clapping and adding to it all.

being fodder has never hurt anyone! :) i mean except the fodder themselves..but he won’t let you get hurt!! he’s pretty new to the crew himself but he most certainly won’t let anything happen to you! in all his years of combat experience he’ll use everything he’s got to protect you!!
in luffy’s honor and name 😊🫂 (i find it so cute how much he respects him, he even called him luffy-san at first, everyone really!) tbh he’s one of the ones that doesn’t really ever mention that you’re fodder. ngl you high key get put into the weak trio when it comes to combat related things
dont even get me started if you really don’t have any form of self defense. now you really just stick to someone strong, or watch the ship. probably with chopper (or nami or usopp depending on who wins rock paper scissors bc all three of them were too scared to go) brook would also be willing to stay behind and keep you company though! you could sip tea or he could play music for you <3
or you could get a tour! so lucky you if you’re too scared to go too! if you aren’t and are adventurous i’m sure luffy wouldn’t mind. everyone would just know to look out for you :) it’d be cute if brook volunteered to do it specifically. maybe for your piece of mind or perhaps just out of kindness. i could see him doing that though.
his old crewmates were pretty much regular. and if you ask me, in general he seems to be one of the ones with the most experience with regular ppl tbh. him and nami are pretty tied. the rest do too but they were either also unique/not fodder or had an important role to the story. aka not fodder- LOL. anyway.
brook pretty much gets you and your mindset. not questioning you or anything like that, he’s more so interested in helping you settle in and feel apart of the crew. and getting to know you personally/your interests! but emphasis on getting settled in. he had to find his own way, and even asked robin for advice if i remember correctly, and if you remember 🤣
as i’ve already mentioned if nothing else brook is set on protecting his people. i mean after what happened i couldn’t imagine him letting that happen in front of him again, only to an enemy. awful. he could never, he’ll protect you with every bone in his body! except..that’s all that’s left! YOHOHOHOHO!! (get it? it means he’ll protect you with everything he has! YOHOHOHOHO!! DOUBT SKULL JOKE!!!😂😂)
now as you can see i’m already ona roll making double skull jokes. if you’re a comedian so is he because he loves his skull jokes. if you wanna take it there the two of you could probably bug everyone, bouncing jokes back and forth with each other. it’d be fun to even make a game or competition out of it. and luffy chopper and usopp are making bets over the last pastry sanji made on it 🥮🥐
jinbe🐋🦈
being regular definitely helps jinbe settle in and balance out between the strawhat madness. if nothing else he knows he can come to you for peace of mind and reasoning. or just to explain the chaos 🤣🤣 (spoiler jinbe..there is no method to their madness 😂😂 and i’m predominantly talking about luffy here..)
he’d enjoy doing or helping whatever hobbies you may have since they don’t involve/end up receiving a punch from nami at the end. tbh i feel like he and nami most need comforting reader 😭🫶 he likely also asks you about how things normally go on the ship and routines so he can get in line with everyone else 😊
you being regular/fodder really doesn’t phase him. at most he’s concerned for your safety. he knows these seas and it’s treacherous waters, and more troublesome than that—who roams them. he has trust in his captain and your crewmates however. he may not have been on the crew long but he does advise one thing: “stay by at least one of us at all times, surely we’ll protect you.”
and he most certainly will! if there’s one thing he can do it’s fight! and two steer a ship! :) so don’t worry and hang on tight to any incoming waves and stay close by him when a foe is near, for jinbe is here! LOL I HAD TO!! 🤣🤣 seriously though if you ever wanna learn fish man karate he’d be open to teaching you!
im sure he found out the pleasant surprise that robin had been taught by none other than koala so quality time for you, robin and jinbe would be instructor jinbe with robin lending a helping hand! 😊🫶 NO FR THO- 😂 she’d be the assistant/giving pointers on what helped her! she’s always been a natural quick learner anyway so i’m sure she could offer some advice!
he’s a lil stoic but he definitely knows how to let loose and have fun! especially when he’s drinking 😅 so mostly during parties is it that he laughs at your comedy. when he’s already giddy anyway 😭 not to say you can’t ever get him to crack a smile with a quick witted one! i think you could! 😉😊

being fodder is completely fine with ace. he’s one of the ones i can see you being interested in each other from jump or just as friends since he’s actually polite and not super crazy 😂😂 he’s reckless yes..but he has his head on straight. common sense, the thing many pirates abandon in search of the one piece. (when you can have both…you don’t have to throw common sense away……in fact i think it might help you..please keep it..)
regardless of where or how you and ace meet he’s sure to be his charming and (canonically 😏) handsome self! thus you won’t feel weak in the sense of him boasting or threatening you. and it’ll in fact give you space to feel safe around him, and less like he’s a pirate even! cuz pirates will immediately let you know if your life means little to them. but ace is reasonable enough to only want someone dead when they’ve hurt those he cares about!
speaking of which!! ace is very proud to protect you!! which i must say i find super adorable ☺️❤️🔥 he knows he’s strong and if there’s one moral he stands by it’s protecting his people. which most definitely includes a valuable member like you! so what if you’re fodder? your strength isn’t in being able to move mountains physically, but mentally. because if he never told you, know that the sense of normalcy in your aura, habits and mannerisms definitely ground him in a way he needs ❤️🔥☀️

if you do choose to do this, or even just being able to have the whole squad laughing with your jokes (LOL) he’d love and feel proud of you for it. the camaraderie between those pirates is thicker than thieves, but there’s nothing like a good joke to bring them even closer!! <33

Luffy
As goofy and dumb as he usually seems, Luffy is actually pretty perceptive.
If he notices you sulking by yourself, he’ll plop right down next to you, holding a big juicy stick of meat to share with you
Food always makes him feel better, so it should make you feel better, right?
If you want to vent your troubles to him, he’ll nod along with a very serious expression and not understand any of it. At least he’s trying!
If you cry, he’ll panic for a second before making silly faces to distract you and eventually cheer you up
Overall, he’s not great with what to say, but his presence and (somewhat helpful) attempts to make you feel better are comforting
Nami
Out of all the Straw Hats, she’s the best person to go to for comfort
She’ll actually ask you what you want, if you need advice or words of comfort, she’ll give them to you, and if you just want a hug or silence, she’ll do that instead
Nami’s a hugger, so her go-to is to give you a warm hug anyway.
If you’re on an island, she’ll treat your sadness with retail therapy. Even if you don’t buy anything, trying on different outfits or looking at whatever you’re interested in helps take your mind off things
If you’re really inconsolable, she’ll offer you something from her treasures she knows you’ve had your eye on. Only as a last case scenario, and she insists it’s a one time thing (it won’t be)
Sanji
Obviously, he’s going to cook for you.
Sweet, savory, salty, whatever your comfort food is, he’ll make it as soon as he notices you’re sad.
Although he already bends over backward for you anyway, he’ll be even more compliant with anything you ask for to try and make you feel better.
If you smoke, he’ll offer you a cigarette and some kind words to tide you over
If you don’t, he’ll still give you solid advice or comfort to make you feel better. He’s pretty logical and is able to figure out how to solve whatever you’re going through.
Zoro
Zoro knows when something is wrong, but doesn’t really know what he’s supposed to do about it.
If you’re sulking, he’ll sigh and sit with you until you break the silence. If you don’t want to talk and just need someone to be with you, he’s your guy.
Zoro will give you solid advice if you ask for it, but won’t sugarcoat it. It’ll be blunt and straightforward.
If you want comforting words for him, you’ll get them, but he’d rather just pat your head and listen to you vent.
He’s one of those people who doesn’t know what to do when someone cries in front of them, so it’s a little awkward if you start crying.
If you initiate it, he’ll let you cry into his chest and tell you it’s okay (partially because he doesn’t know what else to say).
He’s not great at comforting you, but he tries his best
Usopp
Usopp relies on humor and lies not fully true stories to cheer you up.
Whenever you’re sad, he’ll come up with a tale of a grand adventure to take your mind off things
Whatever he’s talking about, it’s so absurd that you find yourself laughing through your tears, or so indignant on proving what he’s saying is false that you forget your troubles
He won’t let you be sad by yourself either–if he notices you’re sulking, suddenly the ship has a random repair he absolutely needs your help on, he needs your help with canon practice, any excuse to pull you out of your sadness
If that doesn’t work, he’s always willing to listen to what you have to say and has surprisingly good advice on how to feel better
