#KnowYourActor ・・・ In 1943, #PaulNewman enlisted in the Navy, joining the V-12 program to become a pilot. But when those beautiful blue eyes were discovered to be colorblind, he was sent to basic training where he became a rear-seat radioman and gunner for torpedo bombers. In May 1945, his unit was assigned to the aircraft carrier #USSBunkerHill. But the pilot developed an earache and another crew was sent in their place.
