Utepils, usually referred to as the “the first drink of the year taken out of doors”, when the weather gets better and warmer after an extensive period of cabin fever. Though it is actually any beer enjoyed outside, at any time of the year, it is true that the first one of the season is a much anticipated ritual.

Elég király ez a ház amúgy, 3 oldalra van terasza, hogy bármikor lehessen a napon ülni. Ezt az oldalt pl még este 10kor is sütni fogja ma, sztem akkor is itt fogok ülni, és hallgatom a hullámokat, meg ahogy pattognak a tobozok. Kibaszott jó, hogy vége ennek a hétnek, az a helyzet.

Ja, a macskát meg tegnap este óta nem láttam, remélem jól van. Ha már miatta vagyunk itt, ugye.

Who doesn’t like to drink a beer outside? Norwegians love this activity so much that they have a special name for this kind of beer: utepils (pronounced “OOH-ta-pilz”). It literally translates to ‘outdoor lager’ but is actually the action of sitting outside on a warm and sunny day and drinking a cold beer.
