Beard Care
Beard care and the occasional long bath with bathing salts are probably the two main ways I pamper myself. My wife likes the way my beard looks and feels after washing it with one of those two Argan & Keratin shampoos. I’ve also used that Argan Oil Nourishing leave-in conditioner in lieu of my usual beard oil. She bought these at TJ Maxx which wasn’t a place that I would think of as a source of hair care products but, then again, spices isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Tuesday Morning but you can find some good deals there on spice blends and things like Himalayan pink salt:
These all do the same thing - moisturize the skin under the beard. They also make the beard soft and smell nice. The softener and the cream leave the beard with a matte finish (They also give you a little bit more hold) and the oil makes it glossy (I prefer the oil because it brings out all the metallic tones in my greying beard). I’ve been thinking about making my own beard oil (There are recipes and guides online for how to make your own) but haven’t taken the plunge yet. I like the fragrances of sandalwood, frankincense and myrrh. Bay & Basil might be interesting too. I was thinking of a beard oil recipe with frankincense, myrrh & a citrus oil like lemon, orange or tangerine as an homage to the Magi:
