Inhuman of The Day

May 26th - Irellis

An Inhuman of the secret city-state of Utolan and the mother of Flint.   The Inhumans of Utolan left Old Attilan centuries ago over philosophical differences regarding the practices of Terrigenesis.  Traveling half a world away, these Inhumans settled in the remote mountains of Mozambique where they built the city of Utolan and prospered there for many generations. \

Unfortunately, centuries of living in isolation had caused the citizens of Utolan to become homogeneous in terms of their genetic composition and this has somehow caused the populace to be especially vulnerable to the negative effects of Terrigenesis.  Over time, it came to be that exposure to the Terrigen Mists was fatal for the majority of the citizens of Utolan.  And yet, Terrigenesis was still viewed as a central, guiding tenet of their religion, philosophy, and culture.  

Desperate for a solution, the leaders of Utolan turned to the pseudo-science of eugenics, trying to match bloodlines in a way that would produce children who could survive the transformative effects of Terrigenesis.   This project ultimately failed and the people of Utolan would go about determining who could and could not survive Terrigenesis by way of a cruel and dangerous process: a couple’s first born child would be exposed to the mists, if that child perished then their second child would be spared the mist, but if their child survived then their second child would also be exposed to Terrigenesis.  These individuals who survived Terrigenesis were dubbed the cities ‘Champions’ and acted as the protectors of Utolan.  Whereas the city itself was ruled by the Council of Elders.   Irellis and Flint’s father, Diyyen, fell in love and mated without the Elder’s consent.  They had a daughter whom they named Ikelli.  Due to the fact that their union was not sanctioned by the Council, it was determined that Ikelli would not be subjected to the Terrigen Mists.  When Irellis became pregnant with their second child, however, it was determined that this second child, Jaycen (who would later go by the name Flint) would be forced to go through Terrigenesis.   

The idea of his son’s being forced to go through Terrigensis was a terrible prospect for Diyyen.  He had seen his own sibling die in the process of Terrigensis and feared the same for his son.  Hence Diyyen chose to absconded away with his son.  They ultimately ended up in America where Flint was placed in the care of his adoptive parents in Minnesota.   When Diyyen attempted to return to Utolan for his daughter he was killed for his treachery.  

When Ikelli came of age she was subjected to the Terrigen Mists.  She survived, yet it appeared that the transformation had left her in anguish.  Even now, Irellis suspects that the use of her powers causes Ikelli great pain and agony…  that it has all left Ikelli a changed, angry, and sullen young woman.  

With the aid of Ana Kravenoff and Gorgon, Flint was able to track down the location of Utolan and was finally reunited with his birthmother.  At the time, Ikelli and a group of coconspirators had engineered a coop to over through the current status quo of Utolan.  This plan resulted in the mountaintop ceiling of the entire city being ruptured open just as the Terrigen Cloud was being toward Mozambique.  

Irellis rushed to the front gates of the city, hoping that in some way her scarifying herself to the Terrigen Cloud might somehow act to save the rest of the city.  Fortunately, Crystal’s Ambassadorial team aboard the RIV arrived in time to evacuate any citizens of Utolan who did not want to be exposed to the Terrigen Cloud.  Irellis ultimately chose to remain behind and take her chances with Terrigenesis.  It remains to be seen whether or not she survived the process and how the cloud may have transformed her.

September 4th - Puppeteer 

An Inhuman of the society of Utolan (a secret Inhuman city-state hidden in the Chimanimani Mountains of Mozambique).  Puppeteer was one of the few ‘champions’ of Utolan, those selected to go through Terrigenesis.  The transformative mists endowed her with the ability to take over functional control of the body of another within his proximity.  

Puppeteer was involved in a coop engineered by his fellow champion, Ikelli, and Sanara.  On Ikelli’s behest, Puppeteer took control of Flint’s will and forced him to use his own powers to create a great issue in the mountainside, thus exposing the city of Utolan just as the Terrigen Cloud was approaching.  Fortunately, Flint was able to break free from this control and the other members of the All New Inhumans team arrived in time to save the citizens of Utolan.

What became of Puppeteer, her current status and whereabouts remain unrevealed.

August 22nd - Passcode

An Inhuman champion of the secret citadel of Utolan.  Terrigenesis has endowed Passcode with the power of techno-empathy, the ability to mentally interface with and control electronic machinery.  Passcode was recruited into a secret plot by his fellow Inhumans, Ikelli and Sanara, to expose all of Utolan to the Terrigen Cloud (even though doing so would likely cause the deaths of half or more of the populace).  

This scheme was eventually foiled by the All New Inhuman team with the assistance of Ana Kravinoff.  Passcode and his coconspirators were defeated.  His current status and whereabouts remain unrevealed but it is assumed that he continues to reside in Utolan.

September 24 - Puppeteer

Puppeteer was involved in a coup engineered by Ikelli and Sanara.  On Ikelli’s behest, Puppeteer took control of Flint’s will and forced him to use his own powers to create a great fissure in the mountainside, thus exposing the city of Utolan just as the Terrigen Cloud was approaching.  Fortunately, Flint was able to break free from this control and the other members of the All New Inhumans team arrived in time to save the citizens of Utolan.  What became of Puppeteer, his current status and whereabouts remain unrevealed.

May 22nd - Ikelli

An Inhuman from the secret sanctuary of Utolan.  The Inhumans of Utolan are descendants of dissidents who left Attilan many thousands of years ago.  They traveled across the globe, ultimately arriving at the Chimanimani Mountains of Zimbabwe where they built a new home.  Over the years, the Inhumans of Utolan were forgotten by those of Attilan and, similar to Orollan, its existence was known only by a select few high up in the monarchy.

As the generations passed, a large number of the Inhumans of Utolan developed an adverse reaction to Terrigenesis and exposure to the mutagenic mists proved deadly to a progressively larger portion of the populace.  Terrigenesis remains pivotal to the society’s cultural heritage and the ruling Maternal Council of Elders ultimately chose a dangerous, often cold-blooded process of deciding who among them would take the risk of being subjected to Terrigenesis.  Marriages were arranged to produce children who were the most likely to survive Terrigenesis; if a couple’s first child perished, then their second child would be spared not subjected to the mists.   

Ikelli’s mother had acted as a member of this Council of Elders.  She married Dijyen without the consent of her fellow council members.  For this reason, the couple’s daughter, Ikelli was deemed unfit to go through Terrigenesis.  When Ikelli’s mother became pregnant with her second child, however, the council decreed that this second child would have to go through Terrigenesis.  

Dijyen was terrified over the prospect of his second child, his son Jaycen, might be killed by exposure to Terrigen, so he absconded with the child, ultimately making it to America where he left the child in the care of confederates living in Minnesota.   

After Dijyen had left with Jaycen, the council decided that Ikelli must go through Terrigenesis in his place.  Fortunately, Ikelli managed to survive the process, though it was incredibly painful.  

She was bestowed the power to generate tendril-like appendages from her skin.  These tendrils appear to be extremely strong and Ikelli can manipulate them with the utmost of dexterity, utilizing them in a unique and greatly effective fighting style.  Although Ikelli has learned to utilize these tendril with great prowess, it appears that the transformation continues to leave her in a state of constant pain and discomfort.  

Ikelli’s younger brother, Jaycen, would go on to become The Inhuman known as Flint, joining the fledgling kingdom of New Attilan.  Flint was desperate to learn his origins and, with the aide of Ana Kravinoff, he and Gorgon were eventually able to track down the location of Utolan where upon Flint was reunited with his mother (as well as the sister he never knew he had).  

Ikelli had been in the process of developing a coup to overthrow the Maternal Council of Elders.  She and her coconspirators utilized Flint’s arrival as the ideal distraction to orchestrate this coup.  Following a battle, the cavernous ceiling to the city was ruptured open and this occurred just as the Terrigen Cloud was bearing down on the Chimanimani Mountains.  It was entirely possible that exposure to the cloud would prove fatal to a large portion of the populace of Utolan.  

Fortunately, The Royal Inhuman Vessel (RIV) arrived in time to evacuate the citizens of Utiolan.  Ikelli’s mother chose to remain behind with her daughter, allowing herself exposure to the cloud and taking her chance with whatever may occur.  What exactly happened to Ikelli’s mother remains to be revealed and Ikelli was last seen standing by her mother’s side as the cloud drifted over them.  Ikelli’s current status and whereabouts remain unrevealed.

March 11th - Daya

An Inhuman who is a member of the Council of Elders in the secret Inhuman city-state of Utolan.  When the Inhumans of New Attilan came to Utolan, Daya offered Gorgon a tour of the city while speaking with him about their people's history. Inhuman of The Day

December 24th - Sanara

A latent Inhuman and citizen of the secret citadel of Utolan.  Together with Ikelli, Sanara conspired against the Maternal Council of Elders as part of an effort to unseat the council and gain control over the governance of  Utolan.   A skilled geneticist, Sanara collected organic samples from the outsider Inhumans, possibly as part of an effort to bolster the genetic composition of the populace of Utolan.  When her plot failed, Sanara tried to flee Utolan and outrun the Terrigen Cloud as it neared.  Ana Kravinoff prevented this escape and the cloud overtook both Sanara and Ana.  Whether or not Sanara survived and how Terrigenesis may have altered her remains to be seen.
