one of the most important parts of writing a Sans is to remember that the majority of his silly comedic actions are calculated to get a reaction out of his audience.

this is the most obvious when looking at his banter with Papyrus, but the whoopie cushions, the phone pranks, the telescope.. they point towards the same motivation.

(even his actions in mettaton's restaurant, with his threats and creepy expressions. there's no way to know how truthful he's being, but it's obvious that he's playing it up to scare Frisk. not exactly a standup act, but it's in a similar vein.)

the truth is... Sans is a massive troll. he's fucking around for attention and he will do weird things to get it, including chugging a fucking ketchup bottle in front of your face. he is a menace and a clown and he must be stopped. thank you.

& this isnt abt the songs but oh my god i keep thinking about how much love toby put into the game & how much love he clearly still has for it. like the fact that he put all those teases to extra areas in the 10th anniversary stream, letting everyone think him and the fangamer guys were just being massive trolls for the hell of it, and then coming back and saying hey by the way? those are for you. i didnt put them in the stream to troll you or out of any meanspirited reasons. theyre for you. see that path? you want to know whats at the end of it? its whatever you want. yes its my world but its also yours now and its as big as you want it to be. where will you go next?
