I know everyone (rightfully so) wants my fics to be updated (and they will be soon trust!!) but I also need everyone to know I’ve got 100k words on UTSOF, and the end is near and a secret wedding is so close, and I’m sending to my agent soon and I just am very proud of myself and once it’s done, I can focus on finishing glbh and continuing my other fics!! (In between edits on the manuscript lol)

So right now, it’s with my agent and she is editing it, and then I’ll do those edits, and I’ll send it back to her corrected and prose tightened up, and then we might do another round or she may be happy with the edits, and we’ll take it on submission!
This means we shop it to editors at publishing houses and they can pass or offer a revise and resubmit or they can buy it! It’s a very long process, and I mean LONG. So if it does get bought say like this year, it prob wouldn’t come out till end of next year for a fast turn around :) but this long waiting period does mean I get to finish glbh before UTSOF would ever come out!
So fingers crossed everything works out and some publisher wants to buy it!!

So UTSOF is orginal work but is it related to glbh? Like I am genuinely confused. Also the little edit you posted with aerion is it of 'cut by dragonglass'

so UTSOF is a “reimagining” of glbh as an original novel. There are some similarities readers will recognize, specifically in relationships and some vibes, but there is a whole magic system from the very first book I tried to get published! As well as the world! Shaera was actually based on the fmc of that book, alcyne, and since it never went anywhere I was like meh who cares! Alcyne is now Shaera! Haha. So I put my oc into hotd and wrote green lies, but then I kept thinking about that book and how much I loved Shaera and her story and the people who loved her, and so with my agent’s approval, I have been working on UTSOF for the last year, which is predominantly why updates have slowed so much. I really bad to focus on it!
There was also a moment in 2024 where I got offered representation by an agent based on glbh alone, but I decided not to accept and I do wish her all the best cause she was so nice :,) but I was focused on my vampire novel, and then UTSOF!
While it’ll be familiar to people for sure, I want it to stand on its own as I believe there does need to be a separation of fanfic and trad publishing spaces (which is why I loved Thea Guanzon’s THW, which I think achieved that perfect balance!) so it was A LOT of world building (made it based on the peloponnesian war, and there is a lot of Ancient Greek and Old Persian in there!!). Some glbh readers—now beloved friends—have read it as well and I’m hopeful that this book will see the light of day :) but now that it’s with my agent for edits, I’m focusing on getting as many updates for GLBH as I can between work and another book I have to finish!
Thé édit i recently did was for UTSOF :) another way to try and keep it separate, to not use the same faceclaims but y’all can see the color aesthetic and vibes being very shaemond ;)
