This is the 2009 Thai lakorn Nampeung Kom (Bitter Honey), which was based on a Thai novel. I was aware of this story that is Problematic And Toxic As Fuck™ because months ago I happened upon a cut of the main leads’ scenes for the 2000 adaptation, which starred an actor that I like. I really didn’t like the story then, but pulled through because of said actor. And I somehow happened upon a cut of the main leads’ scenes for this 2009 adaptation and watched it to see how they wrote it. Turns out they made it even more complicated, problematic, and toxic. Once again, I only pulled through watching the whole cut because it stars an actor that I like and the female lead is quite pretty. And apparently, the novel has been recently adapted again??? Why???
