i don’t agree with gift shops on any museums destined to preserving the memory of a tragedy. of course, it’s important to keep it funded, but i wish/ want to think that there are plenty of other ways to mantain it other than with this kind of profit.
yeah i absolutely get that tbh i mean there's a lot of stuff in the 9/11 gift shop that makes me uneasy i don't like the shirts and jewellery although i DO like that they sell some educational books (what's the point in going to a museum if you can't keep learning after you've been tbh)
BUT i just see a lot of people who are like "a gift shop! this is an outrage! disgusting!" without considering it and are just being really mindless about it and acting like the 9/11 museum is the only tragedy-based museum to have one
