Jeanette reacted before she could even stop herself. She kicked the shell as hard as she could, sending the thing flying across the map. Then she covered her ears waited for the explosion, but nothing happened. No sound, no shaking ground. It was either a dud or empty and she soon realised which one it was.
“So what? You carry around shells for shits and giggles?” Jeanette asked, plucking a shell from the box to inspect it. “The company’s too cheap to actually buy you new grenades so you gotta salvage them?”
Erik watched the shell sail away with raised eyebrows, his eyes following it until it landed waaaaay... over. there. Another moment passed before his grin came back, and he chuckled. “Haha, nice one!”
He watched her inspect the shell, shrugging at the question. “Nah, they offered me regular grenades. I use them sometimes, but I prefer to make my own. But I don’t want to waste time casting my own shells, ‘cause they’re just gonna explode anyway.”
