HEY GUYS! THIS IS IMPORTANT SO LISTEN UP!

Things have been slacking around here a little. Between some health issues on my end and some other things on my co mod’s end, we haven’t done the best job at keeping this place running in top order. That’s changing today! There are two things I wanna address right now. Activity and branching out.

I’m gonna start with branching out. I’ve heard whispers that the lack of outreach is causing some of our members to feel discouraged about being on the dash. That’s the last thing we want here. We want this to be a warm, welcoming place for everyone to enjoy. So I’m going to remind you all, nicely, to please expand your horizons. You see someone’s post has no notes? Give it one, whether you particularly care for the other person or not. Someone’s made a post about making friends? Make sure you give that a like so they can actually hold up to reaching out for more friends. Everything has to be give and take here.

Now with that being said, let’s talk about activity. I know we’re a small group. A very small group. Still, we need you guys to be active. Now, I know we had a rule about activity checks but we slacked on doing those and that’s our bad. Since we’re so small, my co mod and I have decided to up checks to two weeks. You have two weeks before you’ll be kicked for inactivity, starting today. At seven (7) days, you’ll get a warning. Fourteen (14) days, you’ll be removed. Three warnings for rolehogging. You can reapply for the same role three times before we’ll ask you to choose someone else. I think we’ve made that more than fair for everyone. 

OH! And we’re in the works of pulling together a tour for you all. Something small towards the end of October just to spice things up a little so look forward to that! 

I’ll repost this once a day for the next two weeks to make sure everyone gets a chance to see it. When you have, please give it a like so that we know you’ve read through and understand the new rules. We love you guys and we hope you’re all ready for an awesome week.

Okay, so, I said I was going to make a mod note and it would address the anon in the inbox that I did not publish, along with some other things. This is going to be long, so, please bare with me.

When this group started, the mod team was me and the person who created the group. Since then, they have stepped back and focused judt on writing in the group. At times, I have run everything alone and at other times I have found co-mods but I have been here since the start and I have always emphasized that the comfort of our group is most important. Period.

So, some of the unfollows that have been posted tonight and some subsequent ones we’ve received since and still need to post were people that have decided to leave on their own. However, we did have one character that had to be removed due to incidents with other members that were causing these members anxiety outside of the game. So, as a little refresher on some important things that came up!

1. Do NOT take SB info as IC knowledge unless it’s been revealed by the gossip. If we see this happening with more people we’ll be making the list private.

2. We’re going to be more strict about not playing characters too close to each other. If you already have characters that have a relationship to each other we won’t be requiring a change so long as we see it’s not being used manipulatively but we’re probably not going to be permitting these types of situations anymore.

3. Don’t go out of your way to prevent other people from having IC friends/plots. Your characters can hate each other! Fine! But talk out any dramatic plots to make sure everyone’s comfortable and DO NOT just start bad mouthing characters any time their name comes up because not only do those characters get unfairly isolated, I’ve had writers say that those comments being made to their characters was uncomfortable.

Hi loves! I thought I’d already made an announcement and updated the rules but apparently I’ve been so busy I didn’t get around to it and I’m making an announcement now!

With secrets we have had issues with certain topics so, though these things can be part of your character’s backgrounds, we are no longer accepting applications where the entire secret for your character is: past/current abuse, illness, mental illness, addiction, or anything in that vein. If you have any questions or want that as their background but need a little help bridging that information to an acceptable secret then please feel free to reach out!

I’m on mobile so there’s no formatting, but, I think this needs to be said.

We as mods do not want anyone left out. We want everyone to have plots and if you’re trying to get them and people aren’t reaching out then please tell us and we’ll take it seriously. However, do not bully people into plotting with you. This was an issue recently and we have handled it but we really don’t want to have to again. RP is supposed to be fun, if another writer is harassing you and making you uncomfortable then please let us know.

Alright, so, I know I want to add some more life into this group again since I’m working hard to keep it afloat and I’m sure the rest of you do, so, I am open for suggestions to expand on the ideas I have or give me additional ideas! Feedback is important so PLEASEEEE help me out with this one, guys!

I’ve been interested in running events since last year but never got enough member input to solidify ideas or schedule it. Drop your ideas in the ask box, IM, comments here, whatever!

I’ve also wanted to get the gossip blog a little more blackmail-y. I will say, with the gossip blog in general there has been issue where a lot of people don’t update regularly or don’t put enough information in posts for the blog to use it for anything and then we get asks about us picking favorites when really there’s just virtually no content to use for gossip. So, please, try to update at least once a week with anything big or relevant that happened to your character OR something they had a strong reaction to or whatever! And the more details you use the more likely the gossip blog is to stir up drama for you! Anyway, if you would be interested in gossip related tasks please let us know! I’ve had ideas since at least November or December and could start to implement them if there’s interest!

Also, we might potentially be expanding the mod team! I need to figure out the be way to create and app and get responses, but, that’s being worked on

Alrighty, so, I’m trying to finalize details in my brain for EXACTLY what the task will be, but, I’m going to be launching a gossip blog related task this week, I think, which is going to involve trying to get dirt on another member you are assigned, if that makes sense. I’ll set a deadline to reach out after receiving the final details to let me know if you are currently unable to participate. If you don’t tell me by that deadline that you are opting out of the task then I will take that as acceptance of the task and if it is not completed by the task deadline there will be IC consequences (not activity strikes or removal or anything like that, I will lay out details later).

While I work on that, I think I should poll our members on an important topic coming up for many groups. Currently we have kind of left real world quarantine issues up to individual writers and it’s been kind of weird. Since members are expressing interest in events and such, I am posting a poll for everyone to decide if quarantine should be happening within the world of our game or if we should throw that out in game to allow for events and better interaction. I’ll close the poll in about 24 hours unless I see all members seem to have answered before then. If we choose to not have/end quarantine in game I will create an event to help interactions for everyone! The link to the poll is below!

Hello everyone!!! PLEASE make sure you’re updating your sideblogs because I’m working on a task to boost group activity and make the gossip blog a little more fun and the current plan I’m working on will use sideblogs! More details will be sent when I have all the details worked out!

Okay, so, I was going to leave the poll at 24 hours open, but, we’re at 23 now and I really need to start winding down for the night because I’m an essential worker and I just closed today, I’m a full time student through distance learning from 9-5 tomorrow, and then I close the store again soooo rest is important! Attaching a screenshot for transparency, we had 3 votes to keep quarantine in game and 11 votes to eliminate quarantine. I did not vote to allow our members to have a say. So, I will be planning an event. People who voted against eliminating quarantine in game can contact us if it would be helpful to you to be able to have your characters exempt from events that would have characters gathering together. We really want everyone to be comfortable but most members voted the other way and we have been hearing that members desperately want more activity and interaction! Please don’t hesitate to reach out so we can make this work out for everyone!
