UWIDEF assists the #UWI Guild of Students. The UWI Development and Endowment Fund ( #UWIDEF ) and UWI Guild of Students have again partnered in support of UWI Mona students, to ensure that the pursuit of the dream of attaining a tertiary education, though a difficult financial hurdle for many, is not an impossible feat. The President of the Guild of Students Danielle Mullings visited the @uwi_def office for the formal handover of a grant for Ja $100,000.00 from UWIDEF for the purchase of laptops for students in need. Miss Mullings met with the Executive Director Mrs. Carla Seaga and the Projects Officer Miss Francine Warren-Kidd to discuss the Guild’s programs. Through additional funding made available from UWIDEF, the Guild will also be awarding three grants to needy students: The UWI Mona Guild Accessibility Grant (valued at Ja $100,000.00) for a disabled student with a verifiable need. The Guild's One of Us Grant (valued at Ja $50,000.00), for students pursuing BSc. in any Faculty at UWI with a verifiable need and demonstrated social involvement. The Guild Part Time Assistance (PTA) Grant (Valued at Ja $50,000.00), for Part Time students pursuing a BSc. in any Faculty at UWI, with a GPA of at least 3.0 or CAPE exams and verifiable need. These Grants have been made possible, again, because of the generous support of UWIDEF's donors and we look forward to receiving additional support in our effort to keep dreams alive.
