I say, once a nail tech always a nail tech. 💅🏼 It's a skill that no one can ever take away from me. Not too long ago, I ran a home-based nail studio on the weekends and went to school on the weekdays. Raising kids, going to college, and juggling clients all at the same time is NO joke, but here I am today. So proud of that chapter of my life. 👏🏼 Being a first-gen graduate with an Associates of Arts in Anthropology from Austin Community College, I fully intended to transfer to a four year university in order to pursue a B.A. in Applied Anthropology. After considering the cost-benefit of continuing my undergrad journey, I instead took a leap of faith and enrolled in the 6 month UX/UI Design program offered by the University of Texas at Austin. 👩🏻🎓 #graduated So far, this career transition is insane! I'm still learning, still networking, still trying to perfect my portfolio. 🙄 As l reflect back on my professional experience, which ranges from food & beverage, retail, administrative healthcare, and the beauty industry I've come to notice that my non-traditional background has allowed me to grow deep empathetic skills that are now part of my core values. 🔸I'm not where I want to be, but I'm on my way. 😏 Swipe to see some of my work from the past. 💅🏼✨ ________________________________ #uxnewbie #nailtechlife #nailsofinstagram #austinnails #atxnails #funfacts #changeisgood #liveyourlife #goals #inspiration #hustle (at Austin, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CO2lFrog5Ac/?igshid=kfjwewajp7hm
