glancing over the other’s frankly bizarre appearance, he didn’t think much could surprise him anymore, but this is something else. any introduction is completely missed, replaced instead by a large amount of mental question marks.

confounded seems to be the right word for how he feels about this entire situation. fighting demigorgans was one thing, he could just grab a bat and go for it, though realistically that had been more difficult.

If he was awake, he wouldn’t have had much of a clue what was happening. Picking fights is not a strange concept to him, but he had been out here alone, trying to find a place to clear his head, lit a cigarette- then? Nothing. Sure, he had enemies, but even people who didn’t like him wouldn’t stoop so low. Clearly, whatever had happened, hadn’t left his body in the best shape in the world.

Vaguely, he knows he’s awake enough to hear... something. Maybe his name? Really, Steve can’t be quite sure, head still swimming, senses not quite catching up with his brain. Good thing, too, he’s sure he would be in a WORLD of pain if nerves started actually inputting information. Instead of attempting to answer, he focuses on catching his breath, in and out.. in and out..
