Music filtered from inside the building as Ren stepped outside for a bit of fresh air. It had, overall, not been a bad night. He wasn’t one for big parties usually, but getting to hang out with his friends had been the best part of the night by far. Almost at that exact moment, he realized he wasn’t alone. He glanced over and saw one of the new students from Haven-though he wasn’t sure what her name was.

“Are you enjoying yourself tonight?” He asked politely.

Beacon Calls // Tatsu-and-Fenri

Her stomach churned nervously as she stepped off her father’s private jet. The old man did not even bring it upon himself to accompany her to Vale to say good-bye. Hell, he did not even let Klein go with her to get situated. Like always, she was left to do things for herself. The young Schnee proceeded down the airway and set her destination on Beacon Academy. It was her first year and despite her obvious nervousness, she was excited.

The main avenue was bustling with new students dragging their luggage behind them toward the temporary dorms. She had been provided with a pamphlet and map, but still, she could not find her bearings.

Ren’s brows furrowed as he looked over at Jaune. “What makes you think I don’t trust you?”

Ren was not the most social person. Not by a long shot. Sure, around his teammates and people he considered his friends, he could be very talkative, but branching out was extremely difficult. That being said, he was extremely aware when he saw someone that he thought was attractive. so when he noticed the young man with silver hair standing idly nearby against the wall, well, he couldn’t help looking.

Before he could do much else, however, he was being shoved in the stranger’s direction. Looking sharply over his shoulder, his gaze met Nora’s, and she gave him a ‘shoo’ motion in his direction.

He faced forward again and cleared his throat. “Um. Hello.” He said, and internally winced. That was so weak. Hopefully the stranger would find it endearing and not creepy.

He’s trying not to panic. Trying to resist the urge to run all the way to California, just to be sure. So that he has time to laugh it off and get made fun of for being paranoid. 

But Barry doesn’t feel paranoid right now.

He feels right.
