“What? It’s just another dragon.” Lorienne couldn’t help the laugh at her cousin’s reaction to the news. “Shortest blight in history, they say. Probably the only good thing that came out of Loghain getting King Cailan crushed; no one breathing down my neck about all the meddling i had to do to get our army built.”

She still looked really upset about that, but maybe it was just having to be there for Alistair when his brother and his mentor died in the same day. She shook it off. “Anyway; I’d rather hear how you managed to get yourself set up in Hightown? The nobles here must have kicked up quite a stir seeing your dog in their gardens.”

“Surly there must be another way!” Cullen pleaded, shaking his head.

“Knight Captain, you really can’t just let her go. You know that.”

How many mages had he killed to spare them of such a fate.

“But she’ll be made Tranquil....Just kill her and be done with it!” 

That would be a mercy. Nobody deserved such a fate. Not even Hawke.

“To live without emotions is inhumane!” He was shaking his head again. First the Knight Commander, and now his fellow Templars. Had everyone gone mad? Lost there senses?

“And since when have you considered these mages people, Knight captain?” The Templar glared. Cullens own words were now being used against him. this was the order he idolized so as a child.

“If you do this, then I am gone.”

The Templar laughed.

“You act as though you’re so difficult to replace, Cullen.” Cullen stared. Wide eyed. Had he actually just said that? He heard footsteps approaching behind him, and then a sudden pain n the back of his head. And the world went dark.

“This will be easier without him getting in the way.” The Templar growled.
