The day had been long. Too long. For once he had fallen to sleep without the aid of wine or with thoughts flying through his mind so quickly that he couldn’t sleep. No. Exhaustion hit him hard and he welcomed it. If he didn’t manage to sleep right for once he was sure that he would snap and kill him uncle at this rate. All day he was just there - always watching - always correcting his small mistakes - always underestimating him. It drove him insane most days. But that was tomorrows issue. For now he laid fast asleep, a gentle breeze flowing around the room from the balcony, his crown laid off to one side, allowing him to feel free of that particular weight. The puzzle however stayed around his neck, tucked under the pillow he laid on in order to avoid stabbing himself while he slept - a kuriboh sleeping by his side - and yet neither of them moved or made a sound as the pesky thief examined his room. No - it wasn’t until Bakura blocked off the nice cooling draft that Atem slowly begun to stir, frowning in the darkness as he tried to work out just what it was that had made him waken - only to growl and toss his knife - he slept with a few under his pillow, call him paranoid - the knife flying past the intruder though and into the tapestry at the back of the room. Ahh! He’d liked that one. Now kneeling up in bed, his eyes widened as he took in just who had sneaked into his room. Just how did he get past the guards in the hallway...or where there none? There should always be some though... thoughts drifted away as Bakura almost ran out the room, Atem tossing another knife - trying to hit his feet to get him to stop as he crawled out from his bed. something was off here and he didn’t just mean Bakura being inside his bed chambers - though since he had been here - just why was he not dead? “Shut up” he hissed softly, picking up the dagger from the others cloak and frowning at the rip. Bakura had always worn this. Was this something from his family, perhaps? “I’ll have this fixed but for now just be quiet” he frowned as he wondered over towards the door, trying to listen out for any guards. It seemed silent. Too silent. What was going on? “Did you see anyone outside here when you decided to come and watch me sleep?” He kept a tight hold on his dagger, preparing to fight if he had to - only to have caught something out the corner of his eye. The moonlight had caught hold of something metal in the distance - Atem pausing in confusion for a moment before rushing over and throwing all his weight into Bakura’s chest, making them both fall to the ground, Atem landing on Bakura’s chest, just as an arrow flew past where they had just been.
