Seven picked up the phone to dial the number recorded by the RFA messenger app after MC logged in. Now that she was a new member, he had to make sure that all her information was correct-- while he didn’t doubt the capabilities of the messenger he built, it was still better to double-check everything, in case there was a bug. He also needed something to entertain him while he had work to do for the agency, so he figured he would kill two birds with one stone with a prank call.
It was meant to be light-hearted conversation, of course. He didn’t want to actually annoy her, at the risk of driving her away... He watched her on the CCTV feed, partially to check that she really was there, and partially to get a better look at her than he could on her social media and other assorted selfies from her phone-- not that he’d hacked it! That would be unethical-- who was he kidding. Of course he had.
The number rang, and he heard the other end pick up soon. “Ah, hello? I’m calling to report an issue with your account. It appears that there’s been some fraudulent use, so please confirm your phone number for me and follow my instructions...”
