⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ you can give a hundred if you want >.> All the stars! A sky of them!
⭐️ - When Albert does get engaged Theo has a period of panic. It’s one thing to share his best friend with the staff and Parliament and that, but he at first thinks he’s being left behind. It means a lot to be asked to be the best man and gets rid of the panic (which he thought he hid rather well though he probably didn’t).
⭐️ - Theo is well aware of what a ‘cage’ it is that Albert and his family live in. He doesn’t take it for granted that he’s the only one the door is open for. It just has him more willing to stick around, though after Bertie dies he does consider leaving. It hurts far more than he’d anticipated, and Theo takes the yacht out on vanishes for a long while before coming back. He doesn’t ever get rid of the yacht either, he still has it in the present day.
⭐️ - Often times he does play the ‘what if’ game with himself. What if nothing had happened to Bertie’s family, what if they’d finished out the war in the Navy? Basically, he ends up going in circles and circles playing through scenarios and wondering how things might have gone. Especially he spends a lot of time wondering how in the world he’s ended up living a palace - from being a carpenter to a sailor to the friend of a King.
⭐️ BONUS - Yes, Theo does consider telling Bertie where the Fountain is. He’s very aware it’s a bad idea, he’d been sworn not to tell or to take anyone back there, but he wants to anyway bc he’s horrible at letting people go. He’s most certainly begged Bertie to let him do something when he gets sick, and only mildly satisfied when he appears to be getting better, and utterly devastated when he doesn’t.
⭐️ - Double bonus for @hrhmonpetitchou : After having vanished on everyone, when Theo comes back he fully expects Elizabeth to not want him around because of how he’d ditched the family to deal with such a loss on their own. He asks forgiveness but doesn’t really expect to get it.
