The carts that could be better described like cattle cars had brought them here days ago, and yet they had hardly spared them any medical attention, Old Lestallum supposedly was a place with decent access to medicine and other resources, but the place seemed close to abandoned. The few that did live there, were certainly not happy with the sudden rush of homeless and gravely injured.
They didn’t even have housing, just tarp pitched up, a metal barrel to burn firewood in and be warm. Nyx did what he could, he would’ve helped pitch the tarp, but he needed two hands to tie ropes. He wouldn’t helped chop wood, but he needed two hands to swing the ax. More and more piled up with just how little he could do with a lone hand, and a shaky one at that.
The commotion that arose got him out of the small tent he had by the old abandon roadhouse building most of them had formed their little bedroom community near. He saw the groups of people, walking over to see what was going on. He spotted white, and assumed it was a doctor, and quickly returned to his area. He beckoned one of the children who went deaf from a artillery blast. He flashed a flashlight on and off until it caught their attention.
Nyx carried the kid on his back, the kid squeezed his neck far tighter than he appreciated, but complaining wouldn’t get him anywhere. He kept walking, seeing more of the people shoving and moving forward. He decided to get just as aggressive and push through with his elbow.
The parting of people stops him for a moment. He’s a disheveled mess and he definitely doesn’t want to look like this now that he realized this isn’t technically a doctor like he thought. He would’ve at least liked to look presentable in front of her. He decided in the next moment that didn’t really matter.
“Hey Princess.” He carefully set the kid down, although he continued to support him, the child still had bad vertigo, could hardly hold their body up. “You uh... mind helping this one out first?”
