—- The Horde is an ancient one — first started with a couple of shiny stones him and Lilith ( verse depending ) found that he wanted to keep safe as a memento of their time together — a collection that grew as he explored the new realm and grabbed whatever they found interesting — eventually as they forged out a realm for their subjects gifts and new shiny things were added and eventually the invention of money and gold coin found its way in and a tithe was added — it grew and grew till he has a whole underground cave with his Horde .
It soothes that instinctual need to gather something precious to him and protect it — and is technically a smaller part of the larger horde ( that being his entire realm and those within it that despite everything he still cares for and wants to protect .)
Amongst the gifts and gold are objects that only he can use and touch — objects much to dangeous for any mere mortal or sinner /Hellborn to use — legend even states he has Excalibur Deep in his horde .
