Yuno had set aside the day to introduce her boyfriend {since when had she been interested in anyone...?} and everyone seemed excited to meet him, Mao included. Yuno’s introduction had gone smoothly, with everyone {except for Kousaka-kun, but what had she expected?} greeting him kindly. Amano seemed sweet enough, {although he was oddly emotional about the whole thing} and the passed few hours had been enjoyable. {Akise-kun, especially, seemed uncharacteristically happy}
Hunger had eventually driven them all to seek food, and she now found herself alone at a table with Amano; Hinata and Kousaka had {of course} volunteered to order for everyone, and Akise and Yuno had gone to make sure that there would actually be something left by the time they returned to the table.
Something had been hanging in the back of her mind all day {she wasn’t entirely sure what it was}, but something about Amano seemed strangely familiar. It tugged at the deep corners of mind, {the feeling when you’ve forgotten a word—you still know it, but you can’t quite reach}. She hadn’t planned to bring it up, but the awkward silence in the air was begging for someone to speak, and she might as silence the strange feelings she had been having.
“Amano-kun... That name seems so familiar. Forgive me for asking such a strange question, but we haven’t met before, have we?”
