And for a moment she’s rendered speechless, with the parchment torn in two once taken from her hands though her preceding expression had retained its ever-so conventional seriousness when she spoke. And she’d been…calmer than one might normally be (for a daughter, perhaps?), seeing such an image though in truth partially questioning his choice of such a design for a recruitment poster she’d chosen to say nothing of it. Only trust what her father had in mind after all, yes? Though it seemed not to be the case, as she now discovers. “I had thought it strange, at first… But I supposed it wasn’t impossible? For you to put up those posters on your own, I mean.” Yet seeing her father’s expression regarding the matter next to these words… It was enough to draw a chuckle from her lips.
“Honestly, if you thought the image was best to draw in new recruits then I should know better than to question you, Father.” Which may have been a jest, as seen through the continued bit of laughter that escapes her lips that was difficult to hold back at this point.
He wasn't quite sure what to make of her comment. Glad that she realised it was such an odd thing for him to do, yet puzzled that she thought the possibility still remained. What sort of father had he been exactly? Still, even he saw the humorous side to all of this, if others could find laughter at his expense then perhaps there was a silver lining to this whole fiasco, especially when that laughter came from his daughter.
"I'd trust you'd knock some sense into me if I ever did start recruiting using such methods" besides he'd rather her question his actions than simply follow his lead all the time. She was a bright young girl who could offer much, he'd not want it to go to waste on his behalf. However, he noted the hint of jest in her tone. Despite her usually serious demeanour she didn't hesitate to throw a jape or two his way and he was glad for it. "So if I suggested to Frederick we'd adopt a similar plan but use your royal image instead you wouldn't question me?" Continuing the banter she'd started, two could play at this game. Evidently they didn't just share such physical likeness but a few other personality traits as well.
