perhaps rebirth is always ugly; basira has been feeling the aftereffects of daisy’s death for days. does it show in the weariness of her face, the blood and dirt under her nails? does it even matter? lately, she’s had more important things to do than look in a mirror.
in this moment with melanie, she feels as though she might finally be able to breathe. she’d worried for her slaughter-touched friend in the apocalypse, blind and with no entities to protect her.
