Shrugging a shoulder she looked into the distance before trying to answer the unnerving question. “I..I..I’ll just have to explain that it was in the past.” Gazing over at the other she went on, “Everyone has a past...From the whisperings around here, Lucas has a past so why should mine be any more weighted?” Lennon was trying to defend herself for what promised to be a big upheaval if and when he found out. In her heart of hearts, she knew he’d not take the news well. The proof of loyalty sent a chill down her spine. She hoped to god it wouldn’t come tot hat.

“Em isn’t chattel, she has a choice over whose bed she chooses to warm,” he rebutted. It was safer to seem indifferent over the subject matter. Undoubtedly, someone was trying to test him but he wouldn’t give them the pleasure of failing it. Instead, he walked away keeping his anger a bay. Of course, it bothered him to know Em was with others but if she did so willingly what could he say about the matter.
