Following the controversial death of King Harkenvor and his family, his brother, Tristain, assumes the Throne. Some believe that the Royal Family fell to sickness, others say that "sickness" was of the conqueror's blade. Whatever the case may be, the country of Kai'Slatmora has been divided.

Vil awakens from a coma to find that she is not as she once was. Stricken with a strange blessing yet curse, Vil has been given immortal life at the cost that she may never step foot in the sun again. Furthermore, she must drink from the blood of the living, lest she risks falling to the coma again. She is the first of her kind.

Found in the wilderness by a monster hunter named Simothis, they learn that she is the lost daughter of Harkenvor and heir to the throne. With King Tristain's assassins hunting them down, they are forced to seek an alliance with a powerful queen in hopes of challenging her uncle and restoring Vil to her rightful home.

Here was a really fun concept I created for Vilsindris, from Va'Sith Arithis. The pose, the wings, the scales, and the colors. I had so much fun with this one.

A character concept of the avian race from the Symphony of Elliandor. This is the Narar'Hi, Captain Angivose, seen in the novel, Va'Sith Arithis. I had a ton of fun drawing him, feathers and all.

The Vorseth’Ai Dream

Walking down the cobblestone road, the light rain patters the ground, and the grass glistens from the lantern I carry in my outstretched hand. Lightning flashes illuminating the night sky showing leafless trees which claw at the heavens. The road, I realize, forks up ahead; and looking upon my map, I realize that Fardenhiem is still half a day's walk from here.

A chill feeling rushes through my spine, and a ghostly sigh up ahead takes my eyes from the map back to the fork in the road. Standing between the split is a pale lady with red reptilian eyes. They glow as though aflame. Her white dress and black hair flow ethereally in the violent wind as if she is a specter. Feeling my side for the hilt of my silver sword, I blink and alas, the woman is gone.

Left in her wake is another path, less a fork and more a trident. The third path is partially concealed by shrubbery, and at the end is a mausoleum trimmed with iron spikes. Lighting splits the sky above giving sight to the gargoyle which stands guard above the half open door. Its twisted, snarling face freezes my blood briefly, though the fear soon passes. I tread softly with my hand tightly wrapped around the handle of my sword.

A warm light glows from the slightly open door. It is made of ornate iron and dark like the stone coffin I enter. Though what I find within is somewhat shocking. Transcending from the bleak rainy world behind, I find myself mystified by a realm of sunlight and warmth. A rainbow is cast over a waterfall, the sky is bright blue with white wispy clouds stretching into the horizons. Surrounding me are verdant hills of rolling grass for miles to come. Trees are scattered here and there, birds sing their songs and squirrels chase after one another. I continue walking through the middle of the trident path, and at the end is the pale lady lying upon a stone slab with her eyes closed, and her hands clutching a rose above her chest.

As I approach the Vorseth, --walking through this projected dream-state of hers-- and look upon her fair face, I realize that it is unfair to judge her for the blood drinker that her kind is. For here, lying under the sun in her mind; the undead woman dreams of what she has forever lost... And that is what makes her still human, despite how she is forced to live. I release my grasp of the blade upon my hip, thinking that Elliandor can suffer one more Vorseth to live. For if this is what she dreams of: then mayhap we are wrong to judge the Vorseth as hellish beings.

I leave her dream of happiness back into the dreary rainy forked road, and turn away never to look upon the hidden path to her mausoleum. For peace is a beautiful thing, never to be disturbed. So long as she dreams like this, she shall forever be safeguarded by this seemingly normal fork in the road.
