Artfight defences haul😁 Part 1/3

It was so fun this year thats the most Ive drawn in ages, I did 33 attacks(including 2 mass attacks!) and got 20 defences :)

Im gonna try to keep this momentum next month, I got new watercolors and plan to do some practice panels/comics for vacancy and I want to do inktober this year, maybe I will do a different monthly challenge like that too.

Also I put everyones @ on the pictures for credit, I did have to crop some for tumblr friendly formatting

The basics for the plot is that all of the cities on earth are being overrun by highly evolved forests and other unnatural weather events and the main characters have to sort out their family drama before the apocalypse begins.

*Later in the plot there are references/parodys of biblical events so be aware of that if you dont like blasphemic media

Ryusaki

He is the head of a governemnt research lab dedicated to finding ways to stop the forests from expanding. A few years before, his daughter went missing and his wife left him. He did not handle this well, so instead of doing his job, he puts most of his resources towards trying to find a way to genetically replace his missing daughter and get his old life back.

Andle

She is one of the first 'sucessful' samples from his secret research, as she looks very similar to his original daughter. She grew up in the lab, and gets most of her information about the outside world from news coverage of the growing climate disasters. When she has the chance to leave the lab behind, she sets out to do her own investigation into what happened to Ryusaki's daughter as the stories she's heard dont add up.

Aloe

Having recently moved back to Japan, his father got him an entry level job with the local government. When he is assigned to help with the lab renovations, he quickly befriends Andle and when the more sinister intentions of the governemnt's intervention get revealed they escape together into what remains of the city.

Greenburg

A charming, mysterious man that has quickly risen to power in the local government, he is tasked with getting Ryusakis lab back on track with their research. He seems to be taking special notice of the divided support of the public, those who support the spreading forests versus those who prefer to keep their city industrialized. He will be important later, in the second part.

Those are the main characters but theres lots more, I will do a part 2 once I make better refs for them and probably another part about the world building and full plot :)

Red

❤️Aloe

Red and his brother live and work as caretakers at one of the oldest temples in the city, by the old forest. As the invasive plants begin to push the boundaries of the forest closer to town, they become intertwined with the dramatics of the lab.

They also know Ryusaki’s ex-wife Eve, who moved into the forest nearby following her daughter’s disappearance, and are able to provide Andle and Aloe with valuable information when they come looking for her.

Aloe and Red also share interest in music and fashion, and Red brings him to the local nightlife scene. When Aloe and Andle fight and split up, Aloe comes to stay with them, and the two begin dating. His calm, steady personality balances out Aloe’s high-strung anxiety.
