It was heartening to see the other man so calm and well-prepared. Fitting, perhaps, considering that the dark knight had once served as the Emperor’s general. There was probably very little that would fluster Maria’s brother after all he’d seen and done at the despot’s behest.
Even so, it remained to be seen if they’d be able to stand each other’s company for long.
Setting his spear on one shoulder, Ricard smiled. It bared a good deal of teeth. “Good. If we had my wyvern this would have been a quick trip. Let’s hope those thin legs of yours can hold out.”
