The only way to test for rabies is with a pretty large sample of brain tissue, because you're looking for the infected tissue and it's potent even in very tiny amounts.

Yeah fine uhuh BUT this was an indoor pet that had never come in contact with any possible source which hadn’t bitten anyone and you literally could have just quarantined it and waited to see if symptoms showed

like it had such a ridiculously small chance of having rabies

was from an ILLEGAL SEIZURE (there was no warrant given)

the decision was made in about 24 hours

and the owners where not informed until after the fact

like if that doesn’t scream WRONG WHAT THE HELL WHERE YOU DOING idk what man

(like sure maybe there are circumstances where you do need to check, I’m from a rabies free country so it doesn’t really come up, but even I can tell this wasn’t one of them)
