Life as a slave was hard but Joyce didn’t have a choice. She’d do anything for her two sons, even toil away in the heat all day, until her fingers ached from overuse. She was bent over a pile of broken droid parts, a frown creased between her brows as she worked. Lifting the back of her hand to wipe sweat off her dirt-stained face, she was forced to stop when the heat became too oppressive to focus. That was when her gaze rose towards @forcenexus, approaching the entrance of the workshop. Hastily wiping her hands on an old rag, Joyce gave the visitor a tired smile. “Mr. Waldore is out doing business but he should be back soon. In the meantime if there’s anything I can help with … ” Her greeting trailed off when she got a better look at the young man, recognition and shock in her expression. “Anakin?” Joyce breathed out, moving slowly closer.
“It’s really you, isn’t it?” Surprised features broke into a teary-eyed smile as Joyce reached to carefully cup his face in her calloused palms. “You’ve gotten so tall.” It was hard to believe that this was the same boy who used to play with her youngest, Will. Anakin had changed but Joyce knew that it was him. She could tell from his eyes, still as bright and blue as the sky.
" I had a dream about you. "
“What kind of dream? Is that why you came back here?” Joyce asked, uncertain if Anakin knew that his mother was no longer in Mos Espa.
