Hey gang! Still on hiatus, but I do want to talk about the treatment and handling of dark content in yandere fiction and my stance on it.

Fiction (and horror fiction in particular) has always been a way for society to discuss and process dark subject matter. From the taboo to the torturous. I don't think writing or reading it is in any way, shape or form something to condemn. To me, that reads far too close to censorship.

Yandere in particular is a horror trope. Yeah, we have fun with the romance aspect and we all love a broody, twisted yan but at its core it IS still horror. That means it's going to be a vehicle to discuss things that are inherently horrific. Noncon, violence, abuse. Writing it obviously does not mean applauding or celebrating those things, any more than reading it is encouraging that sort of behaviour in reality.

I assumed this was a pretty obvious facet of the genre, but I think sometimes we all need a little reminder. Horror writing is going to deal with the worst of humanity. That is the very basis of the genre.

The way that subject matter is handled will vary wildly, but it's still horror. And trying to censor horror serves as nothing more than a perpetuation of the Satanic panic that has plagued us for decades.

I hate people writing Patton evil/unsympathetic, that isn't his character, he cares for everyone, yes, he made mistakes, but they are mistakes that can heal with TIME-

I'm sorry, I just don't see the vision. I don't see him abusing the other sides, I don't see him mistreating them either. Omg.

This is towards the people who write Patton unsympathetic. I'm sorry, it's my opinion. And I kind of had to write this.

I could rattle off reasons why I hate unsympathetic Patton, but that takes up too much time.

The other day a reaction streamer I like randomly decided to react to Mystreet and for like straight up 20 minutes me and a live chatter were arguing if Travis was in the first episode.

In the first episode of Mystreet chronologically, aka Phoenix drop high ep 1 yeah, he's in it and the other chatter kept saying that, "he's there when they take attendance" "he's here not alone buddy" "he's in the first episode" etc, which pissed me off to know end because yes he's in the first episode of Phoenix drop high... BUT HE WASNT WATCHING PHOENIX DROP HIGH!!! He was watching "The New House | Minecraft Mystreet [Ep.1 Minecraft Roleplay]" aka Mystreet season one episode one and they could get it through their thick goddamn skull that Mystreet season one episode one means Mystreet season one episode one and not Phoenix Drop High season one episode one which is NOT what he was watching.

great now the toxic gross stans are going after damien's looks on twt- I'm honestly fucking tired like they are so pathetic- don't have a shourtney, or angela, or amanda, or anyone's picture as a pfp if you're going to insult one of their close friends FOR NO REASON other than to be edgy- you don't have to like him, but have some BASIC RESPECT, especially for someone you know deals with image issues- the way they know their faves could see this shit and they still don't care- its not on private accounts either.

I sincerely hope one day, one of the cast members (especially a well respected fan fave) fully calls someone out- if they can lack media training on so many things, then they might as well lack it in this case!

Sorry for the rant yall lol I'm just tired.
