Canon EOS 250D | 56mm | 1/125s | f/16 | ISO 100 Taken on 14/07/2020. The Emilia-Romagna plain represents half of the region and is where three quarters of the region's population live. In fact, all the provincial capitals from Piacenza in the west to Rimini in the east are situated on the plain. But venture south in eight of the nine provinces (not Ferrara) and you'll come to see the other half of Emilia-Romagna comprising mellow hills, hidden valleys and the Apennine Mountain ridges that separate the region from Tuscany. On heading 10km south of the flatlands around Fiorenzuola d'Arda, I arrived at a medieval village called Castell'Arquato, one of Italy's prettiest villages, that sits on a hill and offers some of the best views of the Val d'Arda countryside. The colourful gentle hills with the Apennines appearing in the far background couldn't be more different from the flat plains in the Piacenza province. So if you decide to visit Castell'Arquato, which has one of the best preserved medieval profiles in Emilia-Romagna, don't forget to go round the back of its imposing square-based castle and take in the beautiful scenery that awaits you — like in this photo! 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: Take a bus from Piacenza (E41) or Fiorenzuola d'Arda (E43) with 'SETA'. Tickets can be bought on the SETA app, which I found very easy and convenient to use. ______________________________________ #valdarda #inemiliaromagna #ig_emiliaromagna #yallersemiliaromagna #italia #italy #ig_piacenza #castellarquato #borghipiubelliditalia #borghiitaliani #borghiditalia #thehub_emiliaromagna #landscape_captures #landscapephotography #loves_united_emiliaromagna #shotz_of_emiliaromagna #emiliaromagna_super_pics #italian_places #alluring_emiliaromagna #bestvacations #ourplanetdaily #paradise #italygram #gramslayers #huntgramitaly #bellaitalia #bbctravel #topdestinations #myitaly #ladolcevita (at Castell'Arquato) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDN_24eoW7Q/?igshid=487rob2qfc4t
