If you asked me less than 2 years ago if my steps would lead me to becoming an author, publisher and now a “woman of influence” nominee, I probably would have scratched my head a bit. 🤔 I followed the instruction of the soft still voice that nudged me to sit down and spend all waking hours to pen what became my first of 3 self-published, bestselling children’s books— God be praised! The goal was and still is to make culturally diverse characters more visible, namely Black characters, their families and our everyday experiences. As a self published author, I’m going up against the conglomerates who have resources to advance their own narratives.
