Midnight Reading
Throwing another log into the fire, Ilyea casually skipped back to the side of her bed as another laugh spilled forward from her mouth. “No fair, Aurora! We did agree that I’d do the voices of all the male characters if we were to do this but you had to pick the one where there is nothing but male characters!” The mage huffed moving some of the papers aside to sit close to the Shadow walker.
“Well, if there are any female voices I’ll gladly voice them but you have to keep up your part of the deal.” The white haired rogue chuckled holding up the offered page for her to read.
“You had to pick this one? Are you trying to make me blush?” Ilyea groaned and then exploded into another fit of giggles. She reached over and grabbed a cup of coffee that had been sitting on the side table when they had started their nocturnal readings sipping the luke warm liquid as she began.
“Cuu-ryiel” Ilyea begran gruffly trying to imagine her best impersonation of Cuu-ryiel’s face she could come up with. It happened to work best with a lot frowning and folding her arms. To be fair her expression could be interchanged with Valenhar as well.
“You silly girl. Who are you trying to be?” Aurora chuckled trying his best to keep quiet within the barracks. It was after bed time where a majority of the servants and other Scions had gone to sleep so it was the best time for these little midnight readings.
“My impression of Valenhar, I think I need bigger eye brows and to frown a bit more.” Ilyea admitted, her voice drawing low so that she could whisper read to him. “Stop trying to make me laugh though, it doesn’t work if you work to make me giggle all the time.”
Aurora leaned forward and kissed the temple of the mage as she settled down next to him attempting to read the passage again.
“Cuu-Ryiel” She started again, gravely and short with her best impression of Valenhar still on their minds. “Will I need an entire crew to raise my flags or do I get the best pirate in Sunspire port to raise them himself?.” Valenhar whispered to the kneeling lord, running his fingers through his black hair away from his horns.”Ilyea breathed trying her best to recite it without laughing too hard.
“But Valenhar, the Viking of my heart. You know that I can be more than enough for you. Let me show you that these horns are not just for decoration. He growled” Ilyea spoke in a lower monotone for the other Cuu-Ryiel’s portion within the book. Her voice slipping an octave lower for a gravely effect.
Aurora could barely keep it together before he started to laugh. It didn’t take long for Ilyea to join him as he began.
