It wasn't exactly beach weather just yet, sun popping in and out from behind the clouds, the water still icy cold, the waves choppy. And so perhaps Valentina looked out of place, clad in a skimpy bikini, laid out on a beach towel, eyes closed behind her sunglasses as music blared from the speaker set up nearby. It took her a moment to hear the paw pads falling on the sand, the sound of curious sniffing following. A familiar. A familiar familiar at that. Craning her neck, Val pushed up her sunglasses just as Sun-Hee came into view, lips pulling into an easy grin. "Well there's a sight for sore eyes. Come to join me?"

Closed starter for @axiosawaitaddie Location: Eclipse, past midnight

Shoving open the backdoor, Valentina was met with air so crisp it felt like it burned her lungs, a stark contrast to the air inside, heavy with smoke and the smell of booze. Not that she minded, of course, the smells were more familiar to her than the smell of brewed coffee in the morning. Stumbling out of the doorway, the taste of whiskey still on her tongue, Valentina slipped the joint between her lips before patting herself down, looking for her lighter. "Fucks sake, where did- Hey, got a light?" she called out to another figure in the alleyway, only to pause and squint at them. And then a grin spread on her lips. "Well if it isn't my favourite dance partner."

Leaning back in the chair, Valentina exhaled, the cloud of smoke lingering briefly before being blown away in the wind. It was late in the evening, the sun nearly gone beyond the horizon, and while normally she would've already been two drinks deep and getting ready for a night out, instead she was sitting at a picnic table at the park, a stack of papers before her and a joint dangling from her fingertips. Glancing up briefly when she sensed someone else's presence, Valentina offered a wry grin. "Who'd have thought they were tellin' the truth when they said we'd need math in the real world, huh? I'd say I wish I paid more attention, but that'd be a lie."

Closed Starter for: @cantfightmoonlight (Len) Location: Starlight Bar, Before Opening

Valentina had never been under the impression that owning or managing an establishment would be easy, but some of this stuff really was way over her head. Some parts were easy, for instance she managed to seduce charm one of their suppliers into giving them a major discount on local whiskey, a fan favourite at the bar so a big win. And then there were the other parts. Balancing books, spreadsheets, excel files. It might as well have been in a different language. Looking up from the papers when the bell over the door chimed, Valentina turned on the charm, flipping her hair over her shoulder and putting on a flirty smile assuming it was another vendor. Materializing through the wall, the smile stalled on her lips before stretching wider, more genuine this time. "Well look who it is. You do know we're not open yet, right?"

Cutting the engine on her bike, Valentina pulled off her helmet, dark hair tumbling free as she took a deep breath. The adrenaline was still singing in her veins, cheeks flushed from it and the overwhelming heat. Her tank top clung to her skin, the sky darkening above as the humidity reached a new high. She wasn't any stranger to reckless behaviour, it was part of her personality at that point, but there was something different in the air. The sound of screeching tires continued on nearby as other drivers zoomed by, and then she caught sight of a familiar face. "Hey!" she called out with a wide grin, waving at the other woman, "perfect day for a ride, huh?"

It was an hour from closing, which meant the patrons at the bar were starting to dwindle down slowly but steadily. Despite it being a weekday, the bar had been more crowded than usual, as it had been most weekdays since the Valentine's Day fiasco. She supposed it made sense, they were in the business of drowning out sorrows after all, and there sure seemed to be enough of that going around in Lunar Cove.

When the front door opened, Valentina glanced up from where she was wiping down the countertop, her eyes lingering on the woman that entered. Lunar Cove was a small town, even if you didn't know someone by name, you'd definitely seen them around at least a handful of times. Just the look of her had Valentina reaching for a glass, flipping it upright and setting it down on the counter just as the woman came up. "So. What's your poison for the night?"

Stretching languidly in the sheets, Valentina absently watched the vape smoke moving in the air overhead, a lone ray of sunlight peaking from between the blackout curtains. She stretched again, feline, a content sigh leaving her lips before she held out the vape in Zuva's direction. "Imagine waking up to an alarm instead of that," she mused with a chuckle, laying perpendicular to the other witch, bare legs draped over his stomach. "Matter of fact, couldn't imagine working a 9-to-5 and having to wake up early either- anyway, what time do you think it is? I'm starving."

"So I'm not gonna ask, 'cause I know we don't really do that," she started, de-shelling a pistachio and popping it into her mouth, casting a sideways glance at the tall figure slouched in the barstool next to hers. "But I gotta say, you're being a pretty shitty wingman right now," she teased, finishing off her drink and sitting back in her seat. "You wanna head out?" she asked after a beat, glancing around them as she de-shelled another pistachio, "pretty quiet in here tonight anyway, I'm sure we can find something better to do elsewhere."
