Rhaenyra Targaryen:
Rhaenerya was definitely a diligent student in terms of learning Chinese. She loved hearing you speak it so naturally and fluently. She would ask questions at the start of every lesson and wasn't afraid to correct herself if she was wrong. She would always listen attentively when you spoke. She does sometimes feel she is learning a little too late in life, given the difficulty of the language and the time it takes to master it.
"我喜歡麵包嗎? (Wǒ xǐhuān miànbāo ma?)", she asked eagerly looking at you with the hope that she had learned.
You smiled fondly as Rhaenerya while giving a slight shake to your head.
"你喜歡麵包嗎?(Nǐ xǐhuān miànbāo ma?)" you corrected.
Rhaenyra nodded slightly dissatisfied as she repeated the phrase a couple of times under her breath in the hope of memorizing it.
"You will get it!" you said with a reassuring smile, "It'll just take some practice, love."
She smiled back at you, grabbing your hand and giving it a reaffirming squeeze, "I'm ready to keep learning!"
Daemon Targaryen:
Daemon's interest in learning wasn't really motivated by curiosity. He wanted to learn because you knew it and wanted to be closer to you. There were definitely moments when he got frustrated learning Chinese but you were able to calm him down and help correct any mistakes he made.
"我吃一桌. (Wǒ chī yī zhuō)." Daemon said in his gravelly voice looking at you for confirmation of what he was saying. You giggled a little at his error. He sighed shaking his head, "What did I actually say?"
"You said you wanted to eat a table," You chuckled, "You were trying to say: 我在吃蘋果 (Wǒ zài chī píngguǒ)."
He looked at you with big eyes before letting out another sigh.
"Can we please continue?" He questioned looking at your pleading eyes which matched his own. You could see the small smile on his lips which made your heart melt every time, a smile that was only reserved for you.
The two of you had been studying for hours on end while trying to get through some basic phrases and how to form proper sentences to communicate with each other.
Rhaenys Targaryen:
Rhaenys was able to learn surprisingly quickly which seemed to stun and amaze you. You seemed to do well with the pronunciation and tone of words that took you much longer to learn and it amazed you. She amazed you. You were currently going over practice exercises when she said, " 你真是個好老師。謝謝你。(Nǐ zhēnshi gè hǎo lǎoshī. Xièxiè nǐ)." Your mouth dropped agape as she said that so calmly.
"I definitely did not teach you how to say that." She nodded in affirmation. The way her eyes lit up made your heart flutter a little at her enthusiasm. "I did some of my own practicings."
She continued talking about pronouncing certain phrases for you, amazing you even more. You were very lucky.
Viserys Targaryen:
Viserys was a studious man and somewhat of a bookworm. Before you both started practicing, he had already picked up on some Chinese of on own. He was always learning and coming to you with new questions about denotation and grammar as well as tone.
You were walking with each other to a restaurant when he said, "我希望你今天過得愉快。你知道你想從餐廳得到什麼嗎?(Wǒ xīwàng nǐ jīntiānguò dé yúkuài. Nǐ zhīdào nǐ xiǎng cóng cāntīng dédào shénme ma?) "
This blew you away at his sudden grasp of the language. You looked at him in shock and he returned it with a proud smile knowing he caught you by surprise. After that point, you never really talked about it but it was nice to know he could speak it at all.
"I just learned this the other day," he said. This earned a raised brow from you. He chuckled before explaining further, "I hope we will be able to discuss our food choices further."
Laenor Velaryon:
You were kind of shocked that Laenor wanted to learn Chinese, but he was actually really good at it. He did some lessons outside both of yours but he mainly saw it as a bonding opportunity between the two of you. It was a language you were learning and what better way to talk to each other than something you were learning together? He did know some other languages prior, but he never considered Chinese before.
You both were looking at a learning book together. "你很幽默 (Nǐ hěn yōumò)," he said slowly looking to you for confirmation. You nodded enthusiastically, "Yes." A smile came onto his face then. "Okay," he said gently smiling back at you. It took a long time for him to understand the concept behind the sentence, but once he understood what you were trying to show him. Needless to say, he was having fun.
Laena Velaryon:
Laena was probably the most honest and diligent student you had ever had. She was not afraid to make a mistake when learning Chinese, she maybe even enjoyed them seeing them as an opportunity to learn. "我很漂亮 (Wǒ hěn piàoliang)." Laena said joyously looking at you with a beaming smile. You laughed and smiled at her before going back to your lesson. "No, not quite." You repeated the correct phrase in Mandarin causing her to laugh again. She took some notes to herself and repeated the phrase again quietly. When she finished she looked at you for approval and you nodded.
"That is very good!" you praised enthusiastically. "You have improved so much. I am happy to see how hard you are working!" Laena grinned brightly taking more notes in her notebook and a small wink to you. Definitely your best student.
Corlys Velaryon:
"Hmm," he said staring at the phrase in the language book. Corlys took his time learning Chinese ensuring he was able to get things right. He was not one to make mistakes and devoted himself to lessons each time he went. He didn't do much learning outside of class but he made sure to do what he could while in class.
"我喜歡你的笑容 (Wǒ xǐhuān nǐ de xiàoróng)," he said carefully looking at you. "Great job Corlys. Very well done." you nodded your head smiling with reassurance. Corlys looked down and blushed lightly as he leaned back in his seat. Your smile faded slightly when you saw him blush. You couldn't help but stare at how adorable he looked when he blushed or smiled. It never failed to make your heart flutter.
"I do have a really good teacher."
Alicent Hightower:
Alicent wasn't a bad student at all. In fact, she did very well at learning Chinese. However, she was very nervous. She didn't want to mess up or feared you would get tired of her mistakes, but you never did.
You always encouraged her, encouraging her to do better. This made Alicent so incredibly happy, you were amazing to her.
"我是女王。(Wǒ shì nǚwáng.)", she said softly. You smiled gently and held her hand, making her blush in the process. She looked down shyly, making you giggle softly. "That was great. Good job, Alicent." You praised with your usual smile. She blushed even more and giggled. "Thank you".she said. You nodded lightly before going back to more learning.
Aemond Targaryen:
Aemond actually approached you to learn Chinese which definitely shocked you. Aemond was a history buff and loved learning which you knew, but Chinese was not something you thought would interest him.
When you asked why he wanted to learn Mandarin you couldn't help but wonder if it was because of you.
"I just wanted to try something new. Plus I have been told you are an amazing teacher." Aemond had explained to you giving you a charming smile. You could not resist returning his grin, "I think I could arrange some lessons." you said trying your best not to blush too much. He nodded in agreement, "Okay then. When will we start?" he questioned. You looked at your watch noticing that it was too late today, "How about tomorrow? I have some free time after work." you suggested with another smile.
