I gotta tell you about this mom who called in today to get a cake
she called in and I answered the phone, she asked for a small white cake. I told her we only did yellow, marble, and chocolate cakes. She asked "Can you please check if you have a small yellow cake? I really need a cake. He can't do the chocolate or the marble because of allergies, but I think the yellow will be alright." and i said sure, and went to check. we had a cake and i came back with it, "We have a small 8 inch yellow round cake. The icing on it is yellow and blue, would that be okay?"
"That'll be fine, can you set it aside for me?"
"Sure! I'll have it ready for you when you get here!"
"Thank you so much!"
so time passes and I'm getting ready to leave (my coworker has come in and is taking over) and the customer shows up. she says she called in about a cake and my coworker goes and gets it for her. The customer goes on, "I'm so happy y'all had a cake. I was so worried I wouldnt' be able to find one for his birthday."
And I say "Well I'm happy we were able to get you one! How old is the birthday boy?"
and then she goes "It's my pitbull's fifth birthday today! He's a rescue dog, we have four rescue dogs and we do birthdays for all of them! Bless his heart, he's allergic to everything, but I think the yellow cake will be okay."
