here’s a snippet of a project i am slowly deciding to work on before the january s2 premiere....

Eight life-altering things happen in the span of three hours in the increasingly bizarre town of Roswell:

Kyle Valenti gets shot by Jesse Manes, and Jesse Manes gets put in medically induced coma. 

Maria Deluca lets go of her reservations and kisses Michael Guerin. 

Rosa Ortecho comes back to life, and Max Evans stops breathing. 

Alex Manes waits for Michael Guerin before getting an SOS text from Kyle Valenti 

And finally, Michael Guerin tells Maria Deluca about aliens.

While Kyle could pretend that he didn't give a shit about stabbing Jesse Manes with a needle containing dangerous levels of barbiturates, the aftermath of the action sent every nerve in his body into alarm. Save the patient, his mind yelled at him upon seeing the unconscious man, even if his body was still running on shock, anger, fear and pain. Regardless of the bulletproof vest, being shot still felt a million times worse than any punch he’d received. When he was back at the hospital he would have to x-ray his ribs. Texting Alex frantically, he tried to decide the next step.

Hating himself for doing it, Kyle still moved forward and clinically observed Alex’s father. 

Oropharynx fine, despite depressed gag reflex; aspiration won’t be an issue. Chest rising and falling in an eupnoea rhythm, so the likelihood of death not imminent. 

Observe without attachment, he reminded himself. No bias. No hatred for the man who killed his own father and abused his once best friend. If he had been able to show Isobel kindness after Rosa’s death, he could manage with Jesse Manes.

What on earth he was to do next was past him. The choice not to kill Jesse Manes had come in the last minutes of decision on how to protect himself: a bulletproof vest that he had put in his car, and the needle full of barbiturates that he had illegally obtained from the hospital. How would he possibly explain this to his mother, the sheriff, let alone the medical board who would revoke his license as soon as they put two and two together?
