Parricide isn’t uncommon among lamia, especially if a male is in the clutch. Theo would’ve been killed if his siren mother stayed around the incubus father after she became pregnant – of course, it probably would’ve meant she and her lamia daughters would’ve lived after Iphicrotheos reached maturity. Incubi weren’t known to be the most paternal, anyway. Most of his two and a half millennia alive was spent on a tiny island in the South Aegean near Karpathos. Over three centuries ago, a ship beached on Theo’s island, and the crew was eliminated the following night as they slept. More and more ships could be spotted on the horizon. A plan was devised to leave his home should another ship ever meet the shore of his island.
In the guise of a human man, most of the time, he traveled through Spain, Europe, and many other countries. He survived human plagues, famine, and even participated in war. Nothing compared to combat, especially the rare times he’d catch scent of a non-human on the battlefield. Firearms don’t carry the same level of excitement as real weapons, so he never used one. Despite the many wars, the only time he came close to death was during the purge in the 1980’s. Theo lived alone in the Scottish countryside. When they attacked the little cottage, the lamia was completely blindsided. The humans masked their scent, and attacked without light in the middle of the night. Though badly injured by the large number of men, those humans were razed.
The area was fled when he could move without much pain, but villages and towns were cautious of outsiders. Iphicrotheos thought the vampire’s words were a trick when he was told about a former life and an island. However, it wasn’t so difficult to believe he was once some kind of god, because he still felt like one. Though socializing isn’t a strength, it is easier to cope knowing there’s an ancient tie between him and the other island inhabitants. Always ready for a fight, Theo would rather meet their adversaries head-on than wait to be found. If he could live on an island undisturbed for so long, maybe they’d have time before Valhalla could be found.
