Kin chuckled as he walked in, “What a beautiful little family gathering this is. I mean, Mom and Dad, Daughter and her Beast of a lover.” Kin slowly walked over to Vallent, “Can I just say how ridiculous you look, you might be able to dress the part but you’ll always be nothing but livestock.” Vallent scolded as Kin used the tip of the dagger to tip Vallent’s hat off.
Linda glanced over seeing Vallent’s horns. She looked confused, as if she wasn’t sure if she should be horrified, afraid, or appalled. She turned back to Mark and rested her head on her hands, that held Mark’s blood in his body. “What do you want Kin!” Felicity finally got out.
Kin smirked, “Oh yes my announcement.” Kin adjusted his shirt like he was about to give a speech, “I’ve spent a lifetime. Searching for a way back to...My world.” He stopped and stared hard at Vallent as if daring him to interrupt, “You know creating rune magic, getting a bunch of crazy followers. Really starting my fortune of the faith of those wanting, money and power of their own. Nothing soft like Old Age, this was dark magic, magic that could make men’s blood boil an move mountains.” Kin glanced at Vallent, “Magic that can rip a celestial from their plain, and trap them in this one, or even a god!”
Vallent crossed his arms, “There is a reason that sort of magic was banished. You’ll never get back Kin not as long as I draw breath.”
Kin smiled, “Then we’re at an agreement. Thanks to your...sweet bookworm. I found the spell that will open the gates.”
Felicity put her hand over her mouth. “Kin you can’t if you do that millions of people will die!”
Kin scoffed, “So what. No one I care about, you want to know why?” He paused, “Because the only one I ever cared about is already dead.”
“And whose fault is that?” Vallnet snapped as if he already knew the answer. Felicity glanced at Vallent not sure of the puzzle piece she was missing from Kin’s backstory.
Kin rushed forward pushing the edge of the dagger to Vallent’s neck, “Don’t you talk like you know, Little Faun!” Vallent didn’t move, he stared back at Kin without fear. Felicity knew she’d been bold to confront Kin in the kitchen earlier but Vallent was unwavering. “I’m going to enjoy watching you bleed to death.” Kin slowly back up. “Now you all stay put. My men should be here soon to start the spell.” Kin pushed his hair back. As the front door opened up and a few armed men, they looked to be the same guys that had stormed the church back in the city. “No one leaves this room. Not until I come get them.” He ordered and the two grunts nodded.
